The Limbaugh Rule worked to perfection in Mississippi as Dems crossed over to defeat the Tea Party candidate. Thanks Rush.

"Cochran, a former chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, made a last-minute appeal to black voters and Democrats in his battle against McDaniel, a state senator who forced a second round of voting after the June 3 primary. Cochran wooed Democrats by pointing to his decades of bringing home federal dollars to help his cash-strapped state. The senator performed better in counties with a strong black population in the Mississippi Delta, unofficial returns showed."

Nothing else need be said.  Look at who voted for him.  Mostly on the dole, I would imagine.

Lots of good candidates and the fact that the Barbour political machine had to resort to shenanigans to save their guy should tell you a lot about how things are going to improve in the future for the Republican party.  Now the question is whether McDaniel supporters can swallow the bitter taste in their mouths and vote for Cochran.  How ironic it would be for the GOP establishment to spend $12M on the primary only to lose the general.  And if they do they have no one but themselves to blame.  Happened with Romney and will happen over and over until they get the message or get gone from the leadership.......either way works for me.

This is pretty good news for the Democrats but on the whole and looking long term we are headed in the right direction.  The way things are going not just with the House and Senate races in 2014 but with Billary and her pathetic missteps lately I am feeling pretty good.
