Just wanted to congratulate those Tennants at Pleasure Point Park who took Alabama Power to court and obtained an extension on the eviction deadline.

My concern is the issue with sewage seeping into the surrounding Lake Martin waters from those 80+ unapproved septic systems. E-coli in our lake waters is a big concern for everyone swimming and boating nearby and down stream. How is Alabama Power going to stop the seeping of raw sewage into Lake Martin when the 4th of July crowds at the park get into full swing?

Mam, if you are worried about the problem at Pleasure Point, you should be livid about the geese.

Talk about fecal collagen (sp?)!!!!

I do not own a home in the park but the health dept. report showed no raw sewage entering the lake. The report showed gray water from an ice machine and so on spilling on the ground.According to the report all was corrected. This is all public information at the local health dept.If you are so concerned that an issue will arrise you should confer with the health dept not post your concern on the forum.

Have you been into that park lately?I don't think it will be in full swing over the fourth.

The reason I'm writing this is because those homeowners paid the woman who held the lease - she violated her lease with APCO - she gets evicted by APCO in turn the homeowner gets evicted and is left with a loss of their investment and she is sitting in florida with tons of cash.

How can you not feel something for those people?!

What lawsuit did they win?  How long of an extension did they get?

I think everyone at pleasure point, including the Walters got dealt a bad hand. Pleasure Point has been a long time tenant and served a portion of the market that deserve to enjoy the lake at a more affordable level. Time will tell the true intentions of why things went the way they did. My point of view....hope I am wrong. Just does not pass the whiff test.

I am not going much deeper in this issue since it does benefit me.I read the lawsuit and it's the people of pleasure point vs APCO and PPI,lausanne walter.Walter who leased the land is responsible according to the APCO lease to maintain the property. At some point in 2012 APCO received a violation notice from the health dept.Gray water only.Don't quote me but I think walters lease would not be renewed unless she fixed the issues. She did not comply so here come the eviction notices.I do know that in the winter of 2013 the people of pleasure point went to APCO with a half million dollars to build a master septic system and a lease and form a HOA.That was turned down.

This past monday was the first hearing and APCO ask to be excused from the lawsuit. The judge gave a 60 day stay so he will probably rule on it sometime in sept.

I thought everyone that uses Lake Martin has the water quality as their top concern. I'm glad we don't have Lake Lanier's issues! As for the wildlife, they were here first. I'm glad they trust us to take care of their home.

As for Pleasure Point Park, I know a lot of the people there and those I know would not knowingly do anything to jeopardize the quality of Lake Martin. The blame rests with the greedy park manager and the director of recreational land management for APCo. Those two individuals allowed the issues to get out of hand and did nothing to regulate or correct it.

Let me get this right---YOU THINK THAT CANADIAN GEESE WERE AT LAKE MARTIN YEAR ROUND BEFORE US!!

You need to work on your local wildlife history. It's people like you that keep us from getting something done about the

e-coli in the water.

Has e-coli been confirmed in the lake?
