Am hosting my 23 year old son and 12 of his male and female friends at our lake house.  This is an annual event that is always filled with significant male stupidity with the young ladies looking on with a mixture of general bewliderment, disgust and awe but all in good fun.  So if you are in Sandy Creek this weekend stay away from us.  They can't ski very well.  They drink bad beer. And most of them will not wear enough sunscreen and will get burned to a crisp.  All good young men and women and we will be at mass in Alex City at 9am on Sunday.  And the girls sleep upstairs and the boys downstairs.  

The weekend usually starts with them showing up in dribs and drabs on Friday.  Saturday after breakfast we hit the lake for skiing, wakeboarding, wakesurfing and jet skiing.  Stop for lunch on the boat and then an afternoon of me destroying them on the tubes.  Saturday night we will do beer butt chicken on the grill and if they have the energy a quiet night cruise where one of the guys plays his guitar.  Then I will leave them to play ping pong and XBox in the basement and hang out.  Sunday mass and then a late breakfast and then back on the lake.  Strangely day two never involves tubing as they seem to lack interest.......or maybe its the bruises and burns on their elbows......  :-)   A few of them will want to ski, etc. but mostly we will find a quiet cove to float and hang out.  By 3pm they are all dead tired and ready to go home to get some rest.  Then I will stay Sunday night to clean up and do laundry and generally recover from the fun.

We are on Sandy Creek and we will keep an eye out.. if you get down to Quail Hollow area we will throw you some beers.     :)

I don't think we will need any more beers. :-) That is why I am the designated driver......so they can have fun and I dont have to worry.  They really are good young men and women and I am looking forward to it as is my son and their friends.  Last year one of them asked if we were having beer butt chicken for dinner and when I told him no he said he might cry.  Not making that mistake this year.  What is nice is they actually ask me to come along even though they could go it alone.

We will have fun and will stay out of everyone's way as best we can.

Even I would ask you to come along to a Billary rally if you will supply all the beer, food, and boats.  You ever wonder if maybe one of the females is a  LIB undercover?

Have fun............in the past, we have hosted a bus load of foriegn exchange students from many different countries.

Yeah well I am not buying their crappy beer.  I have my Yeti cooler with decent beer in it and they are not allowed in there.  We will have fun and the weather looks decent so I will burn a lot of gas.

MM, a few things come to mind when reading your plans.  One, I just fell out when I read "the girls will sleep upstairs and the boys downstairs".....you said they were 23 and drinking beer......OK....sure.  LOL  Second, I have young teenagers now and I try to do the same thing you are doing....plan fun things so they WANT to be around you.  I would much rather my kids be with their friends at my place where I am supervising than at someone else's place that I do not know what is going on.  So far mine are all about dad being there....just hope they keep the same mentality when they get "of age".  Have fun and enjoy the moment.

Keith, Katie and Madi will prolly think you and I are the dumbest ever in a couple years....  But they will change there mind when they get 20 or so.  LOL.  Thats what Steven did anyway.  But always know, you and I know how smart we are.  You should have heard the speach MM gave Madi while we were all over at PIKE SKIs house.  MM's own daughter even tried to rescue Madi from him.  The speach was so good, I think he has it memorized.

Now now, the girls are "sleeping" upstairs. What they do elsewhere is their own business as they are adults. But even my 40+ year old brother and his fiancé had to sleep apart. They respect my rules......as far as I know.  First couple are here and I am getting too old for this.  She is a 22-year old pre med student that does part time modeling and being from Nashville has been in a bunch of country music videos. And I am not going to comment on what she calls a swim suit. Let's just say you can park your imagination because it is unnecessary.

Now Steve, I save that message for the younger ladies. When they get into their 20's they are on their own.  Gave Madi outstanding but counter cultural advice. It is funny that she remembers it because if I recall she said she didn't agree with anything I said. :-)
