If you read my earlier post I hosted my son's friends (nine of them) and some girlfriends (three of them) at our lake house this weekend.  All I can say is wow!  First of all they brought a keg because they calculated it was cheaper.  Maybe true but they didn't think about the boating.......at least that's what I thought.  So they show up to the boat with a cooler filled with jugs filled with beer covered by ice.  Necessity truly was the mother of invention here.

So we skied, wakeboarded and then floated.  Went back for lunch.  Then it was tube time and I killed them and they loved every minute of it, including the one that got a nice cut near his eye from an errant elbow.  Then back to the house for beer butt chicken and then beer pong (don't ask me how it works.....I refused to watch).  Then a night cruise with Matt playing his guitar.  Then more beer pong and the floating of the keg.....I went to bed and turned on the white noise up high.

Sunday up and off to mass.........get back from mass and one of the guys gets out of the car and hurls.  Then they took a nap and we headed back out to float and shoot breeze.  A couple of observations:

- Great young people are fun to be around and they know how to have a good time

- What they call a bathing suit today was only sold in Fredericks of Hollywood or Victoria's Secret and not for use outside of the home when I was that age

- A lake house is a great place to create memories and all of them were already talking about next year's weekend.....

Oh, and the girls did sleep upstairs and guys down but I think it was more self defense on their part as much as my rules.  As I told them, any one of the men by themselves has an IQ of 140.  Put two of them together and it drops to 100.  Three or more its well below 80 and any more than that it is barely measurable.  I am sure I was not like that when I was 23 but I am not going to ask my Mom or any of my friend's Moms........although I do clearly recall one of my friends Moms saying to me on my 21st birthday, "I am amazed all of you safely made it to 21".  At first I thought she was kidding but then when I saw the look on her face........oh my.....

More glad to hear that everybody else on the lake survived all of that drunk boating y'all were doing.

Read his posts again.  The riders might have been "indulged" but he knew there needed to be a steady boat driver.  Sounds like a lot of fun, I know they has a great time.

No drunk boating.  I was the driver and was completely sober the entire time.  As were the others while we were on the lake.  Let me do the math for you.  They had 4 jugs of beer for 12 people which is roughly 3 12 ounce beers each over the 6 hours.  Even you can do the math and realize that an adult male can drink three beers in 6 hours and not get drunk.  Sheesh, get a grip and try to enjoy life.

Some people just don't know how to read carefully but are glad to jump to unfounded conclusions.  There's all kinds out there.......

I am not sure I have seen todays new bathing suits you mention.  With todays technology I am sure you are already downloading them for all to see.  Glad it all went well.  And my folks would have never been able to keep the sticks away from the cats when I was that age....I have heard my family tell me the same thing about my 20's age...."I am surprised to see you made it"...now I know what they meant.

Thanks for doing the math, it's easier when you have all of the variables. All I knew was you posted: they they had bought a keg and that they had a cooler full of jugs. You didn't say that it was a mini-keg, or that the cooler could only hold four jugs.

And if there wasn't enough beer for a grown man to get drunk, why was one displaying the signs of a hangover? Or was it just the thought of church that made him vomit?

That's what happens when you make a judgment without the facts.  Funny how everone else recognized a group of young people having a good time but not you.  Wonder why that is?  And now I have you on ignore because life is too short to deal with unhappy, judgmental folks.

I wouldn't sweat it too much MM....his 6 yrears on the forum with 32 total posts and a -4 Karma rating pretty much sums it all up.

Good advice as I already wasted too much time with that yahoo.  Makes you wonder if it isn't Archibald in disguise.  Hard to believe there could be two people on the forum that were that dense but you never know.
