If anyone is missing two hunting dogs near red hill please let me know. I picked them up running down the middle of 229. Truck behind me almost hit one of them. Thank goodness they just jumped right into my car. Must describe them to claim. One has a chip and the vet is trying to locate the owner now. Thanks

Update. Owner of male dog was found. Still searching to find the females owner. She seems to have some allergies pretty bad as her hair is very thin and she can't stop chewing on herself. Also believe she is in hear. Hope someone claims her soon. My male dog is not fixed and I don't need the hassel.

You're a nice person to care so much for those poor lost dogs. But one question for you. Why isn't your male dog neutered?

My male dog is a puppy still. He is a large bread and is only 7 months. My vet says to wait until he is about 15-18 months and let him reach his full maturity. I may not fix him at all. He stays inside mostly and we have a fenced yard. My females are all spayed. By not needing the hassel I ment I didn't like him keeping on trying to get on her and these two big dogs acting all crazy in my home. It's my choice though. She was not my dog nor my problem. Obviously her owner should have fixed her or kept her inside since she is the one who ran off.

Several years ago, while at the AU vet clinic talking to a researcher, I was told that neutering a dog early may not be good. From the little I recall, I believe there was ongoing research regarding cancer in early neutered dogs. I was told that waiting several years, or around mid-age, may be best. You may be wise to wait, and make inquiry of your vet regarding current research.
