This is what we are up against......pure, unadalturated evil.  And how does dear leader respond?  He goes back to his vacation.  How does the leader of the UK respond to a British Islamofascist murdering an American in cold blood?  He leaves his vacation and returns to work.  And now there are reports that the Obama administration knew in advance that this was going to happen.  This is what happens when you give a stupid community agitator left wing nut that hates America a position of responsibility.

So idiot voters, are we really better off today than when the man child took office?  Is the world a better, safer place?  Have the sea levels stopped rising?  Are race relations better?  The obvious answer to all is an emphatic no.  It is no wonder that the only left wing nut that continues to post here has resorted to silliness...........well, other than the rare drive by when faux good economic news accidently happens.  Even they understand that they cannot defend the indefensible.  And we warned them.  And don't give me any of the bovine excrement that the GOP should have put forth a better candidate.  If any fool thinks Romney would not have been better than the pile of human excrement that we currently have in that office they are delusional.

Now that is a rant and events like this beheding and the one to come with the other journalist makes me want to turn the Middle East into a wasteland of obsidian.  If there are good Muslims there they are quickly losing their opportunity to rid the world of this pestilence or suffer the consequences.

This is such a tragic event, I would rather focus on the what we are going to do about the evil that is ISIS, rather than politics.  I'm in favor of bombing them back to the stone age and killing them.  And while the Brit Prime Minister may have had better optics, where are the Europeans in defeating ISIS?  Why is this just a U.S. problem?  The executor in the video has a British accent.  Extremists require an extreme response - and if we have to live with collateral damage, well, so be it.

Hound I agree.  We have been so insulated from the real effects of war and dealing with bad people that we think we can deal with it without feeling the pain ourselves.

I pray for the soul of the individual these cretins hold captive, because surely he will see the same fate as the gent who was brutally murdered

I have always thought that our current President never experienced life on a grade school playground.  There, without the protective cloak of political correctness, people understand how the world turns.  They understand the concept of power.  They understand that bullies will be bullies until called to task for their transgressions.  I remember a story my brother in law told me about his upbringing in Little Rock, AR. There was a bully, much bigger than he, who made his life miserable.  That is, until one day he got the courage to fight back, and with a single punch put the bully's nose at a 90 degree angle from where it was before the punch.  The bully never bothered him again.

The point of the story is that we must be willing to take the chance that our endeavor might have costs, but we must have the courage to take the fight to the madmen of the middle east.  We must crush them.  Fight dirty if we have to, but they must be stopped.  Easy for the boo-birds to say at this point that it doesn't involve us.....but indeed they are myopic because it does.  It is just a matter of time.  The altruists of the world must understand that the crazies will not stop until this magnificnt blue marble, in its entirety, is an Islamist Caliphate.

"And now there are reports that the Obama administration knew in advance that this was going to happen.  This is what happens when you give a stupid community agitator left wing nut that hates America a position of responsibility." We sent Special Forces to find them. What the he$$ do you suggest we should do for the other reporter now being held?  If we negotiated, you would be bitchin about negotiations and the black manboy community aggitator. Do and your kind have the answer?????

It is interesting to listen to Rand Paul as he explains his position(s). We need a vote in Congress to separate the men from the boys.

So who are these ISIS people? A rebranding of al-Qaeda representing the good ol CIA.

It is illegal for US forces to behead and such, but contractors and a new flag can do wonders.

Your tax money beheading Christians?

Please prove me wrong someone.  I want to be.

And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

PHew.............let's get a beer.

No focus on the politics is fine and I totally agree that an extreme response is what is needed.  But I can assure you that politics is forefront in the minds of those in a position to define our response and while I am not encouraged at this point I do hope to be pleasantly surprised.  Thanks for chiming in and again, I am glad to have you back.

Without going into a lot of detail I will say that if you want to look at why things have devolved so far in Iraq and Syria I suggest you look at the action and inaction of WOTUS and Billary.  As for what I think needs to happen, I am a proponent of putting all our airpower to work to decimate these savages as well as providing meaningful support to the Kurds.  What I would do is establish my objectives and turn them over to the military to make it so with no political interference.

IMO, it's only an act of terrorism if the viewer is excited by and sees value in the beheading of an innocent journalist.  And if the viewer contemplates doing such an act or contributing to those that do.

I think it is too easy to try to affix the blame for what has happened to our political opponents.  I don't think it any one thing that has led to the current situations in Syria and Iraq - it is far more complex than that.  Some of it has roots in when we armed the mujihadin when the Russians were in Afghanistan, some of it has to do with actions taken by the Bush Administration, some of it has to do with situation that the current adminstration has poorly dealt with. Some of it has nothing to do with us at all, but rather extremists within the Muslim world set out against more moderate Muslims.  Sect against sect.  Yes, they like to stand up and curse us, shock us and try to blame us, but their real objective is the total control of Muslim countries and we are only an obstical to their real objective.

We have had no grand strategy for dealing with militant Muslims who hate us solely for the fact that we exist.  But I'm not sure that anything we do will have a lasting effect on the end game - we can crush them for now but as long as one of them is still standing, there are endless recruits among those who have been educated to hate Western culture and have been brainwashed to believe that only the most radical form of Islam is the right one.  The people in these countries need to rise up against ISISL and take back their country.  We can help them, but we can't solve it for them.

I look at it a little differently.  Terrorism in my mind is committing horrible acts for the purpose of instilling fear and otherwise causing disruption to a people's way of life.  Terrorism is bombing airplanes in order to get people to refrain from flying; bombng trains to get people to stay off of them, beheading people to provide a multiplier to their power and influence.

Of course terrorism, like just about anything, can be overplayed and result, not in imposing ones will on the terrorized, but solidifying the resolve of those terrorized to do whatever necessary to rid themselves of the terrorists.  It is kind of like the bully picking on the little quiet kid on the playground.  Push too far and the kid sees he has nothing to lose and turns aound and whales the living chit out of the bully.

I predict that ISIS will meet the sme fate as the bully, but not yet.  It will take another "up close and personal" catastrophic event to push us over that cliff.

By exposing your strategy to the enemy… before you attack… you increase the number of casualties in the attack. Even if it is successful. The hidden cost of political (media) grandstanding on military and intelligence issues… is blood. My hypothesis is that our current administration is unique among governments in that it pays for political gain with the blood, lives, and family fortunes of our heroes.

I recall the words of the unfairly berated President George Bush after 9/11, “…and some actions, you will never know about.” Now THERE was a man who knew the dread of terrorists.

In 1986, Hezbollah kidnapped 4 Russian attaches in Lebanon... and beheaded one. They demanded Russian ransom and concessions. The Russians then kidnapped a relative of the Hezbollah leader and sent the leader his genitals. Immediately thereafter, the remaining 3 Russians were released…150 yards from the Russian embassy… and Islamic terror organizations have decided Russian hostages are not profitable.

The Islamists laugh at our abhorrence of violence and penchant for extensive negotiation to the final point of insignificant compromise. We are (in the present age) determined to be weak. The Islamists do not laugh at Russians or Israelis… and probably not the French.
