We have had Boat U.S. insurance for two years.  This afternoon we needed them for the first time.  We had a defective fuel gauge that read full when the boat was near empty.  We ran out of fuel and called the number we were given.  Within 30 minutes, a nice, polite young man showed up and towed us to a nearby marina.  It is the best $67 we ever spent.  I recommend that anyone on the water subscribe to Boat U.S.

Well worth the money.  We had to use them last summer.  First time we've broke down on the lake in the 15 years we've been here.

We too have had BoatUS for the last two years and twice this summer they came to our rescue....have never had a problem with our pontoon, but with 12 on board, the engine failed on our way home from dinner......coil went out...BoatUS was there in 30 minutes and we had a great 40 minute tow home several week nights ago.  if you don't have BoatUS...get it!

Used to have BoatUS insurance till I found out about Progressive.  I've had Progressive now for about 12 years and I decided to price check with BoatUS at renewal about a month ago.  For three boats I pay $440/yr with Progressive 300/500.  BoatUS quoted about $1,100 for the same coverage.  TowBoatUS is a lot cheaper than $640/yr.  Jist sayin'.

Progressive and Tow Boat USA. It is $67 per year. You owe it to yourself to compare Boat US with towing to Progressive and Tow Boat USA.

One of the cost issues with BoatUS insurance is because they offer 75 mile offshore coverage on ALL policies, which adds to their cost.  Unless you take your boat to the coast there is no need in paying for the extra coverage.  It's kinda like obamacare coverage for birth control pills when you're 60 years old.  I tried to get them to give me inland only coverage, but they don't write it.  My guess is Boat US has a contract with TowBoatUS for insured towing, so you'd get the same coverage by buying an annual contract for $67.00, that covers all your boats.  BoatUS has been hammered by hurricane damage the past ten years and they're trying to get rich again.

Towboat US website has a link to Boat US. It is obvious that they provide the towing for both their own customers and Boat US.

The membership that we offer for $67 is a BoatUS membership.  The membership provides you with on water assistance,  it is not hull insurance.  It is like if you have car insurance plus AAA,  you have boat (hull) insurance plus BoatUS with unlimited towing. You can be insured by any provider of your choosing and still purchase a membership with us.  Give us a call if we can answer any other questions.
