It never ceases to amaze me the prognosticators of doom for the political party currently in the dumps.  Go and look back at 2006 and 2008 and all the predictions about the death of the GOP for the most recent example.  Politics waxes and wanes like pretty much everything else and the American people will one day decide to take another chance on Dems.  No doubt the Democrats have dug a deep hole but the GOP has been in similar dire straights not that long ago and now are ascendant.  It will not last forever and they may in fact take a beating in 2016 if Dems put up a good candidate for POTUS and some of their favored constituencies decide to vote for them again.

Which is not to say we should not thoroughly enjoy the outcome because we have finally gelded the already half gelded WOTUS.  And enjoy the bleating of the hypocrites on the left calling for us to work together and compromise and all the things they refuse to do when in power.  I say to them, "We won, you lost...so stick it in your ear".  Dang, that felt good.

"We won, you lost...so stick it in your ear".  Dang, that felt good.   That is typical of the right.  You enjoy telling us that the right is not the party of pettiness . Rather, it is the party that will get the contry moving after the damage done by the leftist elite. To me, you should be saying let's rise above and show we can govern so that come 2016 we can look back and say Vote Right and avoid the pettiness of the left.

Sadly, you are unable to overcome the small mind that wants to play tit for tat.  Grab the opportunity and run with it for the good of the country.

3 weeks before the election your leader ran an ad in KY that his first effort will be to get rid of Obamacare. After the election, his first interview and he acted like a worm saying his first action will be to repeal the tax on medical devices.Obamacare is here too stay...move on and make some improvements.

If you recall I believe that is what he said to Republicans.  What is good for the goose.....

It is obvious though that dear leader has learned nothing and his mental illness will prevent him from doing the right thing and getting back to living within his constitutional role instead of acting like a dictator.  But fear not, left wing nuts and the govt media will once again rediscover their love of separation of powers when the next GOP president is elected.  That will go right along with respecting the minority party, blah, blah, blah.  Voters gave the GOP control of the legislative branch at the local, state and federal level to oppose TOTUS.  And that is what they should do.

Gloating aside, I think it would be wise to hope that the WH and the Congress can find some way to work together to keep the country going. And don't forget that Obama still has the veto and he has the Executive Order.  This combination has the possibility of keeping the country in political gridlock for the next two years, at least.

I'm afraid I think that the "us" and "them" attitude which seems to be the prevailing attitude is not serving the country at all.  And frankly, I am disgusted that Mitch McConnell will be running the Senate.  I don't see him as much better than Harry Reid when it comes to getting anything done.

At least the bills passed by the House will see the light of day, and if passed also by the Senate and vetoed by O, all the cards will be on the table face up.  O will no longer have the Senate to protect him from having to make the tough decisions he was hired to make.

Why not give the man a chance before casting stones? He has not had a chance to be recognized when Harry Reid has done nothing to send any legislation to the President. A monkey could have easily stacked some 300 plus bills on his desk that were passed by the House of Representatives.  How anyone in his position could justify ignoriing the duties of the office for which he was elected borders on criminal neglect. I agree with MartiniMan that the blame that has been directed to the "Party of No" will now pass to the President.

Time will tell how this plays out.  I agree that the President will have to answer for his decisions.

I base my opinion of Mitch McConnell on his interviews, sound bites, and other words that come out of his mouth.  I judge Harry Reid by the same standard.  I've always thought Harry Reid was a blithering idiot.

I guess we'll just have to see what happens.  But I doubt we'll see Obama capitulate to the Conservative agenda.  I'm afraid I see more political gridlock ahead.

My apparent gloating is simply throwing Obama's own words back at him and the left.  I can assure you there will be lots of legislation making its way to the President's desk.  If he decides to veto then so be it.  There is no doubt in my mind the GOP wave was an anti-Obama policy vote and they have to push the kind of legislation that the people voted for and not Obama-lite.  So far so good but if he goes crazy with executive orders that are in direct opposition to the will of the American people then congress has to act to stop him.  That's why they were elected.

According to what I am reading, the reason for the outcome of the election is that people are just fed up with Washington and want something done.  It wasn't working with a split House and Senate, so I guess they decided to go with some new people.  But that is just what I am reading.  I"m not as optimistic as you are, but we will see what happens.

That might explain the Washington results but it seems to me it goes well outside DC and into the states.  The American people haven't been completely hoodwinked after all.  I was beginning to wonder after the travesty of 2012.

According to exit polls the big issues were the economy, Obamacare, illegal  immigration and national security (Ebola, ISIS, Al Quada, etc.). The fact is very few incumbent Republicans lost. This election was a repudiation of big government Democrats and not Washington per se.  And ignore the push polls about the dislike of both parties.  The election results says otherwise and is the only one that counts.

Whatever the reason, it's going to make for interesting times.  I predict that the Congressional approval rating will not go up, nor will the President's approval rating.  And depending on what happens, could have a huge impact on 2016 elections.
