Had a great experience at Kowaliga last night.  No wait, food arrived quickly, waitress was attentive, and the Amberjack special was cooked beautifully and delicious.

Welcome to the forum Waters Edge.  I totally agree.   We ate there a week or so ago.  My wife had Redfish and she claims it's the best fish she ever had.  I know you're not the new manager because there is no new manager.  However, there is a new Chef and I'm sure he's too busy to be posting here.  He's got a REAL job.  By the way, the hush puppy problem has been fixed.  Has to do with the Chef  that is from  Florida vs. a Chef from Chicago.  I hope Kowaliga has a great season this Spring / Summer.  I hope Anchor Bay has a great season also.  Lake Martin needs/deserves more than one lake accessable restaurant.

Let's hope it's not the same Hunt's pizza we see at every gas station.  Price?? it'll be sky high if at Nail's.

Kowaliga is the closest resturaunt to me. I go on occasion, but they have NEVER impressed me.....I'm hoping that some day they will, but I'm not holding my breath.

Anything in particular? Being a small, 1 store business means no discount on products that multiple location stores get. There are no huge mark-ups, believe me! I believe Hunts Brothers pizzas are the same price everywhere.

they call $14.95 for meat & 3  a great deal; Oscars offers it for $7.95 & includes drink; is lake view worth extra $7.00 per person ????? I hope they make it but they need to do some real changes in menu & price points

Kowaliga has done just fine much to the disappointment of the critics. Not a fair comparison between Oscars and Kowaliga to either but $7.00 is not bad.

Went there Saturday night.

Grilled Pompono over grit cake with conecuh sausage and onion and other goodies.

Verdict:  Outstanding.  This is my third time to eat at Kowaliga while trying the new chef's specials.  He is hitting the mark everytime.

As for price, so long as they can operate during this time of year, price doesn't matter as much as having a great place to go.

If the food was free, some people would bitch because they didn't furnish gas money for the trip there. Face it, some people just can't be pleased.

Nails is located just north of Hwy 229 on Hwy 63.  A couple of miles South of Children's Harbor and Kowaliga

Yes, as a matter of fact, the view and atmosphere are worth $7.00 extra
