Despite some encouraging signs there are still some hefty signs of trouble.  See below from Bloomberg.  Will be interesting to see how the Fed responds to the improvements vis-a-vis these other observations.  Met with our bank yesterday and their market analysis was moderately favorable but as they said, we are six years into a very weak recovery and past the average time between recessions.  Ugh!

But, but, but...unemployment is only 5.5%!  If we could somehow get everyone to quit working and not look for a job, I guess that unemployment would then be 0.0%!  Wouldn't that be fantastic?

In the eyes of Obama, the economy must really be thriving. He just took two planes to Los Angeles and the only thing I can see that he did was make another appearance on the "Jimmie Kimmel Show". It's really a shame he didn't pursue a career in Hollywood or use his golfing skills to become a professional golfer.

What direction?  They simply provided their economic outlook during a meeting on our corporate 401k program. Get similar info from Merrill Lynch, BofA, Fidelity and a couple of others that provide services to our comany. I tend to make my own decisions based on what I hear and read.
