 Bristol Palin says she's pregnant for a second time. The daughter of 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin announced the pregnancy on her blog Thursday. Her representative, David Martin, and Palin family lawyer John Tiemessen confirmed the blog post. The 24-year-old wrote that she knows this is a "huge disappointment" for her family, close friends and fans. She's asking people to respect her privacy, and that of her son Tripp, saying, "I do not want any lectures, and I do not want any sympathy." Bristol Palin was an 18-year-old unwed mother when she launched an abstinence campaign soon after giving birth to Tripp in December 2008. She was engaged to Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer, but the wedding was called off days before the ceremony last month.

Why are you yelling about this? (all caps)

Why is it sad?  She is an adult, and she obviously has made a choice.  As far as I know, she's not on public assistance, so if she chooses to be a single mother that is her business.  I do hope that the father pays support, but then, that is not a topic for public consumption.  I think she has issues with her mother  or maybe both of her parents.  Otherwise, why would she feel the need to hold a press conference to get their attention?  But then again, that is their business, not for public consumption.

I shouted to get your attention. Now that I have it, I can whisper. The Right likes to remind us of the importance of a father and mother raising a child. It is not about welfare or self support but their family value views.  No, it's not a left or right issue yet the Right would like you to think it is.
