Is it true that Obama has authorized the payment of $27M to the families of the 9 people killed in the Church shooting in Charleston? If so, what was the basis for funding to this group and not to victims families in similar shootings at movie theathres, schools, solders shots by Islamic sympathizers in Arkansas, or the recent killing of the lady in SF by the illegal immigrant!

"In the immediate aftermath of the shooting the news initially drew little attention, but on 1 July 2015 the web site NewsMax publicized the Reuters article and built upon the scant information it provided. In the NewsMax article, titled “Obama OKs, Expedites Huge $29M Payout to Agencies Assisting Charleston Victims,” the “payout” was likened to similar funds disbursed to affected locations after mass shootings in Aurora, Colorado and Newtown, Connecticut."

There have been other payuts such as Boston.

Not from the government.  One of many articles below.  More recent articles are about whether it was officially an act of terrorism which would trigger the payment of claims from insured that carried terrorism coverage.  Liberals......they believe so much that just isn't true.

The good news is that they are getting donations and the victims families will get some help with expenses.  I have no idea why anyone would think this comes from the government, although as you pont out, I think there is some money available for acts of terrorism.  I think Charleston touched a nerve for everyone in the country - after all, you should be able to go to church and not have to worry about dying at the hand of some hate-filled nut case, who thinks he is avenging something.

I think they raised something like $28M from 50,000 donations.  That is indeed the way it should work.

On the terrorism insurance front, just to be clear if the government defines it an act of terrorism it triggers payouts from private insurance where they have a terrorism rider.  If they don't pay extra for terrorism insurance it is excluded.  So the money comes from the insurance company, not the government.  The government's role is only in defining whether it was an act of terrorism, which in this case they did.  Does make me wonder how many people lost coverage once they did define it as an act of terrorism based on the exclusions in their policy.
