I am in the process of moving to the lake full time from out of state . If I buy a license noe as an non-resident will it cost full price and still expire at the end of August ?

It appears that is correct. They all expire same day. Kinda hot to fish during August, Wait until September when all the boaters are home. If you really want to fish during August, you can always buy a 7 day license.

That is what I thought .

I watch the rises in the morning from the dock . I have been fishig the lake for decades but did not get a license this year because I haven't been here . I'm not sure if I can stand it for 6 more weeks . I will be going back to TN some time next week for a couple of weeks and when I come back it will be to stay . By then it will only be a month to wait ,but that is too long to not fish for me .

I am here ; full time resident lake front on lower Sandy creek area . I will be fishing alot as in daily if possible . I use bait casters , spinning rigs ,and fly rods . I am delighted to be here and to call Lake Martin my home . I  happily left rural southern Appalachia behind me yesterday permanently . I am starting a new chapter in the book of my life and the theme is fishing . Hello Lake Martin Community .

Welcome to Beautiful Lake Martin. I hope you enjoy this paradise as much as we do. Good luck fishing, the fishing here is good as you will find.

Paradise is the way I,m feeling about it too . I have been fishing the lake for several decades as a part timer . Now I am  a lake front full timer . I sat on the dock and watched the sunset last night in the cool light rain . My part of the lake was practically deserted . It was wonderful . The boat has been neglected and needed a little attention . It will be launched tomorrow though . My goal for the fall aside from lifting many spots ( something I am good at ) is to get a striper over 10 pounds on the fly rod (something I am not as good at yet ) .

I hear you, hound dog! Landing one over 10 on the fly rod is a goal of mine, too!
