Subject:   Democrats and Socialists...no difference

Funny to watch DWS on the Chris Matthews show being totally unable and unwilling to differentiate Democrats from socialists.  Easy reason why, there is none.  With a spokesbabe like her it is easy to understand why the GOP is in ascendency.  Of course they also have TOTUS to blame.  And pretty much any prominent Democrat.  But back to Chris Matthews, even a blind squirrel finds an acorn now and then and his random act of journalism ought to be part of the 2016 campaign ads.

Hiliary is down in another poll.  52% of Americans don't trust her.

Who is Chris Matthew?  Who is DWS?

No, every Democrat isn't a Socialist... but it is probably accurate to describe the left wing of the party as being Democratic Socialists.  Nothing wrong with that, Democratic Socialist ideas like a safety net for elderly people (Medicare, Social Security), protections for poor people and programs to bring them out of poverty (Medicaid, welfare & public assistance programs), protections for ex-soldiers (the VA), free public schools, and universal access to healthcare... all of those are really good ideas with more in common with Socialism than Conservatism.

So, no.   All Democrats are not confirmed Socialists, and suggesting that they are is straight out of yesteryear's scare tactics.... Beware the Commies, they are coming to get us!   Turns out that was a gross & hysterical exaggeration as well.

I could start a post stating that all Republicans are Nazi's.... but that would be ridiculous, too.

I have to agree Copperline.  I don't think broading sweeping generalizations serve well.  But, I don't know, maybe MM is trying on his Donald Trump hair and decided that if it was good enough for Donald, it was good enough for him.  You know, I have a good friend that is a Republican and serves in the legislature in Virginia.  We've talked politics lots of times and  I have never heard him express the same  views of Democrats as MM.  In fact, he became a politician becasue he cares deeply for people.  He believes in a government that works for the people and he is sincere in the represention of his contituates.  Retired AF Colonel (06) too.

"I could start a post stating that all Republicans are Nazi's.... but that would be ridiculous, too." But, you could start a post with Some Republicans are Nazi's just as Some Democratts Are Socialists.

Chris Matthews is a left wing host on Hardball on msnbc.  I think he used to work for Tip O'Neil and was the one that famously said back in 08 that he got a tingle up his legs from Obama.  On his show he asked Debbie Wasserman Shulz, who heads the DNC, if there was a difference and she would not answer.  Then she went on Meet the dePressed with Chuck Todd and was asked the same question and she would not answer.  Sorry for all the short hand.

As for the Hillary poll, I am amazed that so few distrust her.  She should be closer to 60% if people were really informed.  This email server business is about to blow up as we learn that she used a private email server to send classified information that we all know the Chinese, North Koreans, Russians and pretty much anyone with an elementary ability to hack now have everything.  She would be open to blackmail from hostile countries and this unbelievable lapse in judgment and dishonesty should be enough to disqualify her from any elected office, much less the presidency.  Just look at what happened to Petreus for having paper copies of secret docs in his desk at home.  Or the poor sap sailor that took pictures of his working on a sub and got caught with them on his cell phone.  That she is still the persumptive front runner says a lot about the modern Democrat party.  And that they are now appealing to Biden to get in says even more about the sorry state of their bench strength.

Maybe a better term than Nazi would be Corporatist which is what some people preferred to call the the pre-Nazi Fascist movements in Europe (especially Italy, Spain and Hungary in the late 20's / early 30's) because such movements put down unionism and boosted the big business class in return for support which included business's winking at some of the more outrageous actions of the Fascists. There is an easy case to be made that the corporate interest pull the strings of the today's GOP and have the nativest, T partiers and Evangelicals, all of whom should know better following, along like sheep.

Of course the craziest thing that MM said was that the GOP was "on the ascendency"!

From what I'm hearing, there is more to come about foreign money being whitewashed though the Clinton Foundation.  I don't know if anyone can prove anything.  But, if it is true and anyone can come close to proving it, then she will certainly be toast.  I think Biden will jump in, but I don't think it will go anywhere.

I would be very careful about throwing around the term "Nazi".  Nazi is an emotionally charged word and it emcompasses far more than economics and politics as we all know.  Couldn't believe it when Huckabee started making analogies to Jews and ovens.  What a horrible analogy.

That and influence peddling.  Apparently Hillary intervened for some foreign entities who magically started to pay huge sums for Bill to speak and made large donations to the Clinton Crime Family Foundation.  I really think we have only scratched the surface with the donations and the email server.  She is racing to get elected President before she is indicted for various crimes.  And this is the best the Democrat party can find?!?!?

I believe that she thinks that if she ignores it and insists it isn't true, it will just go away. Where as Bill would most likely throw up his hands and say "you got me", while oozing charm, she will resort to increasing adament denials and get more and more self righteous.

Honestly, I look at all the candidates, and I mean, all, and think "is this the best we can do?"  Candidates need to be able to talk rather specifically about their approach to the complex issues facing this country domestically and internationally, instead of slinging mud at each other and the other party.  I think the candidates need to realize that the reason Trump is surging in the polls is because he doesn't act like a politician
