Dismaying to see some reactions to this guy focused on the race component, his political affiliation, sexual orientation, etc. That is exactly what the left does along with their predictable calls for more gun control.  The fact is this guy was mentally ill.  We should focus on that aspect of this and forget the turnabout being fair play on the other aspects. His race, political views, sexual orientation and so on were not responsible for his actions.  He was...period.

What does the Left have to do with his killing two innocent people?  The shooter was crazy and his 23 page "manifesto" proves it.  This guy had a long history of crying racial discrimination and filing suits. But the only thing political I see in this is the Al Sharpton's of the world and the "Black Lives Matter" crew continue to drive the idea that all white people are racist and out to get them.

Please point out the actual quote where President Obama pointed out Rev Al as an actual appointed and recognized advisor.  In what capacity is he an "official" (or "un-official" for that matter) advisor to POTUS.  Having someone at a WH gathering or speaking complimentary words about someone or appering on the same platform with someone does not make that someone an "advisor"! It would be nice if more of you guys would back up your claims with verifiable facts. 

Furthermore, please be so kind point out an actiual example of where Al Sharpton has "promoted" such activity as that exhibited by this nut.  I think the whole "black lives matter" business is BS and an insult to any person black or white, but I have never heard anyone in a leadership position of that group advocate murder, have you? Give me ONE instance where President Obama has "provoked"anyone to do anything that can even remotely be interpreted as lawbreaking!

I am short on time and answering this hurriedly without chapter and verse, but if you think President Obama does not have Al as a quasi-advisor then you have not been paying attention.  I agree that no one in their right mind would use Al in any advisory capacity but I remember reports where Obama had Al on the scene in Ferguson in a capacity for the Administration.  No appointment was made but headlines were!

As for Sharpton's association with current nut in Virginia, I have no info on that.

I have read this article and frankly find little or nothing to fault anbody or any action mentioned considering the dangerous situation.  It is hardly a marriage between Sharpton and Obama.  Seems to me it is describing reasonable people doing reasonable things in an unreasonable sitiuation.

I believe that if you delve deeper into this and extend the time frame you will find that Sharpton went to MO on his on and was actually a relatively stabilizing force in a very volitile situation.  He was not "appointed" by Obama.  Obama did ask Sharpton for his assessment of the situation...after all the Rev was on the ground and meeting with the community...I suspect and hope George Bush would have done the same thing.

At the time there were reports in the radical right blogs of Obama "secretly" meeting with the leaders of the protest and making inflamatory remarks.  These reports were completely debunked...he met "in private" (not quite the same a "secret") with leaders of the NAACP and Urban League and Al Sharpton for their input.  Now you tell me...considering what was happening in the St Louis area at the time was that an "idiotic" thing to do?

I could not disagree with this any more.  You and I saw that scene differently.  When I first read your reply I thought you had written the Sharpten was "messing with the community" when you actually wrote he was "meeting".   I think the way I misread it was closer to the truth.

I am not trying to speak for wix, he can do that for himself, and I have no idea who he is.  But I have been shocked at the seemingly close relationship between Al and the Administration.  But then agendas mean everything.

I am no fan of Sharpton, he is sleazy show horse now (similar to the Donald) and was an outright  reprobate in his early years and probably should have gone to jail for pergury.  That being said...in Ferguson he was a calming influence.  Just because you do not like the messanger do not condemn the message if the message is reasonable. When you go into an explosive situation as seen in Ferguson you don't start by asking everybody to join hands and sing God Bless America!  I stand by and reinterate my post.
