Do the laissez faire economists that dominate this forum have an opinion about the drug company that just bought another drug company then raised the price of the main product of that company (a decades old drug used to treat parasitic infections) from $13 / dose to over $700 / dose?

It's that companies right and duty to charge as much for a medicine as they can get.  To heck with those that can't afford the life-saving drug.  When they die, we'll save the government their SS and medicare.  And if they are on Medicaid so much the better!

Seriously, I understand the young, former Hedge Fund Manager is rethinking his strategy in the wake, no doubt, of all the negative press.

Hound, the sad thing is that so many readers on this forum will consider your facetious answer perfectly reasonable.

Do you think there is a chance this guy may have put in this 5500% increase knowing he could respond to the outrage by reducing it to a still outrageous 1400% increase ($13.50 to $200) and be praised for being reasonable in the face of criticisms?
