.............just found reference to another lie by your leader............."A violent felon can buy the exact same weapon over the internet with no background check, no questions asked" sniff sniff ....

WRONG......."Internet purchases are rare.....but when they happen items are not sent to a buyer, but must first be sent to a dealer with a fed firearm license and purchaser must pass a background check"   and besides, USPS, nor UPS, nor Fedex will ship/mail guns from a non-licensed person to another non-licensed person. M Hemingway...The Federalist.

A serious question looking a serious answer Archy.....why do you suppose BHO would go before the nation and tell such a blantant untruth?? Does this meet YOUR definition of an Obama lie?

Archie is rather busy tonight. "The kind of transaction Obama described is possible, though illegal, and more complicated than his comment suggests. Federal law prohibits felons from buying guns. But with some effort, they can purchase guns from private sellers over the Internet without getting caught, because private sellers are not required to run background checks. That seller would have to be in the same state as the buyer."

My grand daughter in Kansas wanted a deer rifle so, with her father's permission, I decided to send her her great grandad's rifle. Since it was in another state my son had to find a dealer to do the transfer. He sent me a copy of his license and I mailed it to him. She had to come in, pass the background check and of course pay $25. Now don't you feel safer?

And she told me she killed her last deer at 80 yds. off hand with a fourth generation rifle . They live off venison.

Remindes me of a friend of mine's son who had his boat license but did not know how to start a boat!

Here's what is so comical about this whole thing.  If a felon wants to buy a gun he can do so illegally in no time flat.  Why would he use the internet where there is at least a money trail when he can hand a criminal some cash and get an undocumented, unregistered gun with no trail?  Answer?  None.

And you are right about internet sales.  I bought my AR-15 over the internet and had to arrange a local dealer to complete the transaction with background check, etc.  I am quite sure dear leader knew he was lying.  He also knows the govt media complex will cover for him so why not?  And he also knows that stupid people like Archie will believe him.  The left, they believe so much that just isn't true.

Your desire to cover for your beloved czar-what's-in-charge is wearing thin on me.  You can ship nuclear bombs, drugs, aborted dead baby parts....anything via any shipping company if you don't tell them what's in the box.  If you're gonna post, at least post believable krap.

Good one....this is easy...M Hemingway predicted this response on twitter..." can't wait for a "fact checker" to go town on this one."

and neontaster on twitter....."Prediction: Fact checker will find some hilarious semantic explanation for why it isn't completely false"

Surprise!.....PolitiFact to the rescue.......Lauren Carroll-the same checker who gave BHO an unqualified "true" when he said ISIS was NOT gaining strength on the eve of the Paris attacks- just gave Obama a "mostly true" on his lie about guns.

I think there are a lot of  half truths and rumors that circulate about gun buying and background checks.  Private person to person gun transfers and sales do take place.  I have no doubt that they will still happen after the E.O. takes effect.  It will remain true that anyone, even a felon, who wants a gun will still be able to get a gun - and it will be illegal, but there are many things that are illegal that still happen every day.  But as it stands, if you buy a gun via a website, like Gun Broker, even though it is a private sale, it still has to be handled by a licensed dealer; however, if you hear that Joe up the street has a gun he wants to sell and you want to buy it and you meet somewhere and do the transaction, right now you can do so without transferring it through the FFL process.

One thing I have been appalled about since Obama took office is the way his staff and advisors don't catch these untruths.  There have been an incredible number of things he has said and done that should have been caught by his staff, before he steps in it.

I actually am of the opinion that they knowingly lie because they understand that: a) the vast unwashed masses more interested in who got tossed off the island last than issues of real importance will never hear the truth or even care; and b) the mainstream media (govt media complex) that is the communications arm of the Democrat party will never call him out on his lies.  To the contrary they provide cover fire when the lies are exposed.  Hillary and Obama knew the truth about the attacks on Benghazi and knowingly and repeatedly lied about it with few real consequences.  Based on that experience what would be their motivation to tell the truth when a lie is politically helpful and there are few ramifications when they are exposed?  The simple answer is there is no reason to tell the truth and they know it.

You and I are consumers of information but are sadly in the minority.  The rest are generally clueless or so ideologically blind that they simply don't care.  As Joy Behar said, I could care less if Bill Clinton raped women, I would still vote for him because we agree politically (paraphrased and not a quote).

His staff are merely peons. They know when he is not speaking the truth, but have to surrender to the dictators commands. They knew all along that his references to Obamacare(such as if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor and if you like your plan you can keep your plan) were lies along with all the other untruths he has spoken. It would be interesting if someone would tally all the lies and misleading information he has put forth and point out how blatant, calculating, and intentional his motives have been. If you don't agree with him, just wait for his next Executive Order. Congress has failed to call him out on his agenda so he laughs in our face and continues on his merry way. What if we raised our children under the same guidelines he uses to get his way? We have "laws" that that we expect them to obey, but if they don't listen and we as parents don't provide them with consequences, they will continue to do as they please. Enough said!!

the way most people raise their kids these days - that rules apply to everyone but them?  That lies are okay as long as you get what you want?  That everyone is a winner just because they show up?

I mean, really, is there any reason to think the WH should behave differently?  And not to defend Obama, but he's hardly the first President or candidate to lie or contort the truth.

i don't know whose children you are using to draw your conclusions about todays young people. i have five grandchildren(three in high school and two in college) and that is certainly not the way they respond to their parents guidelines that they are expected to follow. i am also quite familiar with many of their young friends and they don't fit your description of todays youth. i hope other parents will read your post and will offer their opinions on this subject.

The thing is that most parents won't acknowledge that they are teaching their kids these things... not by words, but by action.

Perhaps your grandchildren and their friends are the exception.

Thanks. I guess I should feel fortunate both as a parent and a grandparent.
