All the discussion is about Cruz since he was born in Canada. Rubio was born in the US but his parents were not citizens. He was born in 1971 and they became naturalized citizens in 1975.

Sadly the current interpretation is that if someone is born while in the US they in fact are citizens and are natural born.  Of course this is subject to debate but it is the common understanding.

My view based on all I have read about this issue is that if you are subject to the laws of another country (i.e., a citizen of another country even if here when born) that you should not automatically be granted US citizenship.  .  But there is no doubt in mind that when Rubio was born here that interpretation was in effect and has been ever since....hence the anchor baby problem.  Congress ought to pass a law!!!  I can't even believe I said that........
