I have been watching news coverage on the latest FBI findings that her emails contained information that went beyond the level of "Top Secret". It was amusing to listen to democrats responding that alluded that it was a "coincidence" that these accusations are surfacing just before the Iowa caucus. Does anyone think it was a "coincidence" that  the true information on the attack on "Benghazi " was witheld until after the presidential election?

As I understand it, she is accusing the IG of a political attack to hurt her in the IOWA caucaus and that she is still claiming that there were not any classified emails  Apparently she is taking a page from Bill's strategy - deny, deny, deny; and when that doesn't work, she'll parse the language and split hairs.  It's more of the Clinton position that anything negative about them is part of the "vast right wing conspiracy" to make them look bad.

From what I have read from those familiar with the laws relevant to national security her argument about being marked classified is complete hogwash.  Classified data is classified based on its content, not on whether it is marked.  In fact the content dictates whether it should be marked classified and treated as such.  If you don't you are culpable under the law as neither ignorance nor intent are exculpatory.  Now that we know she also had SAP material on an unsecured server, in a normal world she would be reaching out to Martha Stewart for prison fashion advice.  Also saw a quote by former Secretary Gates that is not just possible, but likely, that China, North Korea, Russia and other unfriendly nations have that information.

Here's a possible scenario to ponder.  Obama tells her to drop out and put 100% support behind Biden or Warren in exchange for an eventual pardon.  I can see that happening although time is getting short.

I don't think Obama likes her enough to do her any favors, and I sincerely doubts he wants to touch this one.  He'll let her twist in wind. 

MM, you are right - just because it is not marked classified doesn't mean it isn't.  I don't know how Gates could know what is in her emails, unless he has had the opportunity to review the material (which I doubt).  With him, he may be hoping that she would be elected and possibly re-appoint him as SecDef -from the interviews I'm seeing, he seems to want a "do-over".

I think he was really commenting on whether our enemies have hacked into her server.  Like all of us, he knows she had classified emails on the server, including SAP information.  He isn't saying it is a certainty, but he thinks it likely that they hacked her server and since we know she had classified and above information on said server, our enemies have the information as well.  The difference is theirs were not redacted like what we have seen.  And unlike members of Congress who can't even read some of the emails due to their classification as SAP, if they did indeed hack this server, they have this information as well.  I can only imagine the glee they experienced when they got into her server.  I hope they didn't but cannot imagine they weren't that incompetent.  She should go to prison along with any others that participated in this process.

If it hasn't been done already, a damage assessment will be done to make a determination the impact on National Security.  Doubt it will very be made public.  The worst thing is that she didn't report it and it may be too late to determine who might have hacked her server.  As I understand it, it gets trickier with node security and other transmission lines that are far too complicated for my computer brain. 

I just cannot believe that she can be so callus about the whole thing, to blow it off like it is not important.  Until this thing came up that emails were classified (or should have been) and the level of the classifications, I thought too much was being made of the email thing.  But this is every bit as bad as Snowden, whom I regard as a traitor to his country, instead of just a spoiled millenial.

I will admit that my earlier reaction was jaded by my intense dislike of her and her husband but the more we learn the more it appears that she put our national security at great risk in order to avoid being subject to FOIA and congressional oversight.  In fact it has gotten so bad that as I said earlier, I am not at all happy about this.  It has devolved from stupid, irresponsible and possibly criminal to likely criminal and incredibly damaging.

I suspect that given what we have heard about the FBI having 150 investigators working on this and the expansion into corruption charges that they have recovered some damning emails about their foundation and her actions while SoS.  I believe based on current revelations and past behavior that she, Slick Willie and daughter Chelsea (who has somehow amassed a personal wealth of $15M) were operating a pay for play scheme with the foundation, including hidden monies overseas.  

And I agree with you on Snowden, he is a traitor and if he is caught he should be tried as such.  Look at how much time Pollard spent in prison giving secrets to our allie.  Then again, being forced to live in Russia may be an even greater punishment than anything we can come up with.  Hope y'all survive the weather this weekend.  Atlanta is already a mess with everyone bugging out early.

We are, indeed.  The two of us are nestled in our apartment with ample supplies of food, water, auxiliary heat, and most important, a fully stocked bar.  Have a birds eye view from our 11th floor abode.  Tough part is that we have to go through the enclosed parking deck to get to the Harris Teeter grocery store....a survivable experience ??

The HT in our building has two entrances, with one having the self-checkout lanes and the other having the standard checkout lanes.  At one point the two waiting lines for each met in the middle of the store, lol.  Barring a power outage this is a piece of cake!

Good luck with the snow.  No one ever gets snowed in more than 2 days, but people act like they will be snowed in for a month.

I'm sorry to say, I got a giggle out of the bumper cars on I-66 and I-95 when the roads weren't treated.  Having personally lived that little nightmare.... I wonder how many people just got out of their cars and left them there?  I remember that happening in the snow and then they would have problems plowing, sanding and salting around all the abandoned cars.

Well, looking out the apartment window, it appears the prognosticators got it right this time.  Thank goodness it is Saturday.  I wouldn't bet on being able to drive to work Monday, but Tuesday should be ok.  The problem will be the sheer mass of snow they have to do something with....it has been snowing heavily for about 18 hours so far and is not showing any signs of abating...yet??

Makes you wonder if that source has disappeared. Or more to the point, been disappeared by having committed suicide by shooting themselves in the back of the head. At the very least we would have to assume they were compromised and no longer reliable. The more we learn the more culpable she is.  If she isn't indicted our entire judicial system will become a farce. That would be my first defense.  How can you enforce any law?

A story to tell your Southern grandchildren.... how you survived the Blizzard of 2016 "up north".  Hopefully, OPM will make the right call on Monday and not wimp out like they sometimes do.  The biggest problem in DC area is that you have people from all over the world living there - some understand how to drive in snow, but for some, snow is only something they read about in a book.  And then there are the idiots that have never learned that having a 4 wheel drive does you no good on ice. 

BTW, watch out for the black ice.  It used to regularly "get" me on my driveway in VA.  I was thinking it was merely wet, until my feet went out from under me and I was checking out the sky from my back.

One day in Nebraska I was taking our dog to the vet and encountered the dreaded black ice....just as I started down a long hill, with someone in the opposing lane coming up.  I finally was able to get the right two wheels onto a ridge of gravel left over from previous treatments and made it safely, albeit shaken.
