Between today's Iowa caucus and New Hampshire primaries, we will probably see the field start to narrow down to those that might actually have a chance of winning.

My view is that Sanders and Rubio were the big winners by outperforming expectations.  Sanders will win big in NH and get crushed in the south.  As for Rubio, he did way better than expected in Iowa and once again the polls were wrong on the GOP side.  They had Hillary and Sanders within the margin of error so fairly accurate there.  I am betting that Iowans are glad it is over and they can turn on their TVs again and not be inundated with political ads.  Heard on the radio today that a one way ticket from Des Moines to DC was $1,300.  Supply and demand.

Actually, I think the "hot" ticket was from Des Moines to somewhere in New Hampshire.

I agree that Rubio had probably had the best night.  Clinton predictably claimed a win, but the truth is that she and Bernie too close to call.

In a way, the whole thing made me feel a bit sick.

Big winner in Iowa?  The whole state from the infusion of cash brought on by this insane side show.

Yeah, I suspect that is true.  Heard the Bern wants a recall in Iowa.  Not sure what he wants to accomplish as the delegates are awarded proportionaly.  It was already a big win for him as 6 months ago Hillary was way ahead in Iowa.  He will win NH, she will win SC and it will look like a repeat of 2008 all over again with her collapsing and losing to a socialist.

What is interesting is Cruz winning in Iowa despite his position on ethanol.  That was supposed to be the fourth rail to winning or losing in Iowa.  Wonder if it has to do with the corporatization of farming?  I can't say the results make me happy but certainly not sick.  None of the RINOs were ever going to do well in Iowa where more than half the voters are social and fiscal conservatives.  Their hay day is coming in NH where the GOP primary voters are more moderate on social issues.  But even despite that Trump is still up in the polls there.

One thing for sure, Carson, Santorum, Bush, Paul and probably a few others need to follow Huckabee's lead and drop out.  They can't win.

Hodja, I have no doubt that what you said is true.  It is insane and totally unnecessary.  The news stations - CNN, MSNBC and FOX were reporting, even when there was nothing to report.  The news coverage and no doubt the support staff with that, was insane.

Yes, I agree that those who had a very poor showing last night should drop out.  They are just wasting money carrying on their campaigns and siphoning off the few votes they will get.

They say the reason that Cruz won is that he had a better organization in Iowa, and he appeals to a lot of evangelicals - and I guess they have a concentation of them in Iowa.

My personal feeling is that we will be better off with Trump or Rubio.  I don't believe Cruz and I don't think he really believes as he says he does.  There are too many questions about him.  Don't know if you saw it, but our Top General in charge of fighting ISIS made a very pointed statement that carpet bombing ISIS will not work.

As far as I'm concerned on the Dem side, it is a pile of hot mess.  I congratulate Bernie on giving Hilary some competition, but while I love all the things that they propose, everytime they say it, I wonder how they think we can afford that.  We need adults, not dreamers.
