Gang of Eight.......  He eliminated himself in this cycle because of his ill conceived involvement in a stupid idea.  He could redeem himself by maybe running and winning the governorship of Florida and actually avoiding any of this stupidity.

Given his poor showing in his own state last night, I doubt he could get elected governor.  Younger people need to understand there is no shortcut to success.   He needs some accomplishments under his belt before setting up these lofty goals.  I don't think it's the end of his political career.

I agree his political career isn't over and whether he can win in Florida's governor race would depend a lot on who the opponent is.  He is a very gifted politician and I think got some very bad advice when he joined up on the Gang of Eight thing.  Many commentators believed he got past that issue in the primaries but I don't think so.  But he is young and he will have plenty of time to redeem himself.  Had I thought he could have won in Georgia I would have voted for him but he wasn't even in the running.  The GOP establishment, whatever tha actually is, just doesn't get the anger over illegal immigration.  And for sure the donor class doesn't and won't because they benefit financially.

Agree with you.  But I don't think the GOP establishment (and agree, whatever that is) realizes how angry people are about the issue and the fact that despite how often we are told how bad things are, no one seems willing to do anything to get them fixed.  I think people expect those in Congress to do something bipartisan and get things done.  I'm angry that Shelby was returned to Congress, because I believe that he, and others like him, are part of the problem.
