Someone (low life piece of crap) came up on my property by boat on Saturday night April 30, and cut 3 of my full rose bushes to nothing. They left evidence on the shoreline. Someone needed roses for either a reception/shower on Sunday or for replanting.  Please let me know if you may know anyone that hosted a gathering Sunday,May 1 near the dam. I live between the dam and Bear Pen.

I have attached a  before and after picture. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

All I can do is shake my head at what people will do and not think twice.

We also have a Lakehouse on Ryan Creek very close to Bear Pen. Someone cut 8 of our rose bushes to the ground between June 17th - 28th. These were located lakeside of the house and I don't believe they were used for an immediate arrangement as they were not in the best shape. Perhaps they are using the cuttings to grow more bushes to sell. Who knows! The craziest thing ever! We have video tape that is currently being reviewed, will update soon...

Ok we couldn't find anything on video, but 2 of my neighbors have seen beavers on the bank & they both said they have heard of beavers eating rose bushes so I googled it and apparently they do. I'm not positive this is what's happening but it's a good possibility.

It is probably beavers.  They cut down a few of my Elaeagnus. They have large teeth and cut limbs as big as my thumb cleanly, shear like, with one bite.  They ate most of the evidence, or carried it away. They also cut holes in the rubber bladder of my shallow water boat lift.  Took time and patience, finally got rid of 3 beaver and 2 armadillas that were destroying my yard.

My wife and I have seen at least three beaver ealier this spring. Haven't seen them recently. Another culprit could be deer. They love roses too.
