Who do you think Colin and Condi will be voting for this year?

Look for Colin to endorse Hillary (maybe even show up in Philly) and be assured Condi will vote Hillary even if she doesn't endorse. Scowcroft, and Armitage have already endorsed Hillary.

Truth be known, most of Bush 1 and Bush 2 cabinets will likey vote Hillary.  They look at reality and put common sense above party politics.

At least Trump has David Duke's support!!

You are right, Rice is generally apolitical but she is also a very reasonable person in ... that means she is not a partyline hypocrit!  When is the last time you heard her say anything nice about Trump, political or otherwise?  I do not know for a fact how she will vote, but considering her  temper and emphasis while Secty of State, I surely do not expect it will be Trump.  If she does not endorse Trump you can take it to the bank that she is either not voting, voting Libertarian or, most likely, voting Hillary.

Now one more request for you to ignore...please explain how my comments on Powell and Rice are racist.

Would I rather have a different Republican nominee?  You're danced right I would.  Am I willing to vote for a Donald Trump over a Hillary Clinton?  You're danmed right I am.  The dame get BHO has done to this country is bad enough.  In his own way he has far more integrity than either of the Clintons.  I am far from being one of those wing nuts both sides on this forum like to refer to, rather I think for myself....and in this case think that a Donald Trump would do far less damage to the country than Hillary Clinton.

Thanks Mr H.  I do completely get how so many usually reasonable people are voting for Trump over Clinton...that is fine, I don't understand it, but accept it.  I guess I just don't understand what I "don't get" as related to the discussion regarding Powell and Rice.  Do you disavow your expressed apparent admiration for them if they vote for Hillary?

I do not know who Colin and Condi will vote for.  I like to think of them both as independent thinkers.  It didn't surprise me that Colin voted for Obama, given his treatment at the hands of the Bush Administration.  And it turns out, he was right about Iraq.  Both of them made a huge impact on the culture of the State Department, which I am sure was undone at the hands of Hilary and Kerry.  As for any Supreme Court picks, under Trump, I would like to think that once the politics is out of the way, the supreme court will maintain a balance between conservative and liberal thinking. 

Believe me, Trump is not my ideal candidate by any stretch, and I'm not ultra conservative.  But, given the choice between the two, I have to go with Trump.  Someone needs to shake up Washington and Hilary will not do that.  Additionally I cannot see a way forward with Hilary and I don't think we can go another 4-8 years with nothing getting done.  I do think that we have an obligation to those who need help, but it should be on a short term basis and not a permanent state as it has become.  I was supportive of the concept of Obamacare, but not a fan as to how it was implemented.  And I agree with Trump that we cannot be the policemen of the world, and that we can't take on everyone else's wars, if they will not allocate their funds to helping their own military.  We've been on this path of putting everyone else above the U.S. and its needs, and that cannot continue. We cannot continue to build nations when there really isn't anything in it for us; no quid pro quo.  And in a good negotiation or deal, there needs to be a quid pro quo.

Thanks for a reasoned response, now what about the Supreme Court appointments? What about Trumps promise to set up PACs specifically to bring down Cruz (I'm with him on this one), Kasich and a 3d un-named (could it be Jeff Flake) the next time they are in a political race?  What about his unequivical statement that he is the ONLY person capable of saving America? 

Hound, I respectfully urge you to look at ALL issues likely to be in play in the next 4 years and then to carefully reconsider your decision.  You have been the most level headed and common sense poster on this forum for the 6 years I have observed it and am astounded that you have, in my opinion, been taken in by this egominiacal snake oil peddler with an authoritarian disposition that would make Vladimir Putin proud.
