Neither candidate is presidential:  they both spend too much time attacking each other.  Neither has the imagination to address issues because they spend so much time running each other down.

My perspective (may not be yours and I am sure you will let me know):  The current President promised change and did not deliver.  He promised to bring both sides together for compromise; he did not come close on this.  He came off as weak in meetings with other heads of state, someone more interested being the president than doing the work of the president.

With regard to the Hillary standard, the Bible is pretty clear on making comparisons:  "but when they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are without understanding."  When you are the standard, you cannot underachieve or overachieve, what a novel concept.

So then, we are left with the party that wants to be more a part of my life than they need to be and one that does not want to interfere in my life.  I pick the party that does not want to interfere with my life and take more of my money.

Talked to a young person at work the other day who was for socialized medicine, but had no concept of how it has failed in many other countries.  Come on folks, do your homework.  All these benefits won't come without increasing taxes; and who says we need them?

I agree.  I had a discussion with a FB friend today about socialized medicine and I just couldn't convince her that we only need to look to Canada to see what a disaster it is.  I think all of us would love to live the "Bernie bubble" where everything from medicine to college is free, but what no one seems to grasp is that there just isn't enough money for all this, even if they raised taxes.

Hound, I am sure you have talked to some Canadians about their medical system (which by the way is still based on private insurance with the insurance being marketed to the individual provinces instead of businesses or individuals) and found them disenchanted.  Amazing, because I have talked to several Canadians, including a client couple who have seen theirs and ours up-close and personal, and they all say that while it has its flaws they have no desire to scrap it!  Likewise, a married couple who, before they were married, lived in the US for several years and they also much prefer the true ''socialized'' NHS in the UK to their experience while they lived in the US in the 80's.

I think in 10 years the kids in high school and college today will be as pleased with Obamacare as my wife and I are with Medicare today.

I am so happy Obamacare has resulted in a 500% increase in my insurance premiums and a 400% increase in my insurance out of pocket expenses.  NOT.  When I go to the doctor, instead of a copay of $20, I have a copay of $65; if it is a specialist, then it is at or above $100.  How is that progress?  All i can figure is that you are independently wealthy and don't see the extra expense because it is all around us.  I have a friend who has a decent size business in Decatur; he sweats the end of the year because of the exorbitant increases in health care.  But as he told me, he has to pass it on to his product like everyone else....inflated prices due to health care costs.  If that makes sense to you, you might want to save up for a frontal lobotomy!!!!!!!!!

C'mon Arch, are you really that out of touch?  100% of the Canadians I have met and talked to (~20 in the last 3 months) say it takes so long to see a doctor and that they hope they never need a transplant because they will have to go to Mexico for the procedure.

You must be real sick.  My daughter's premium went up 8% this year and she was real upset.  At least she now has FULL insurance.  She had Ulcerative Colitis but fortunately was covered for surgery while she was in college under my insurance.  Never the less, after she dropped off our policy she was unable to get any insurance which covered her colon health until Obamacare came along.

I guess you just meet only rightwing Canadian while I meet the smart ones!

As for you, how old are you.  Maybe things will be better when you go on Medicare.

I probably have less than 10 years til I retire, but we will be bankrupt before I see any of the money that is taken out of my check for medicare.

I am sorry to hear those things about your daughter; there has to be a better way than the current plan.

She is doing great now and has a 12 year old going on 18 daughter.  You are right, there has to be a better plan...before Obamacare there was NO plan for her!

Why do you think senior Canadians come to Florida during winter?  To get decent healthcare...even if they have to pay cash.

Shocking I know.  We have  over ed this before but you are new so here's a brief history.  Before obammycare pre-existing conditions were covered by law.  If any pre-existing condition had ever been covered under any group plan than any other group plan was required by law to cover it without waiting periods.  I know this for a fact as I took advantage of this law several times I  my working life.  At one point while self employed I joined the Chamber of Commerce because one of the perks was being able to buy what basically amounted to an individual policy that was categorized as group coverage.  I've had 19 major surgeries in the past 22 years. Although I worked for several different companies including my own I never was denied on pre-existing condition. Arch and copperline will argue and say it ain't true because they were to ignorant to understand the benefits of existing regulations.  Big bad insurance companies said no so that was the end of it for them. A simple certificate of creditable coverage obtained from one carrier would have solve their non-existent problem.

Yes we have discussed this before, and while you may have had a good experience, Copper categorically demonstrated that you are incorrect in your overall claim.  As pointed out then, I can tell you that you are absolutely incorrect from personal experience...I had a skin cancer removed under one policy and when I changed carriers ANY and ALL cancer was excluded because of the ''pre-existing condition'' skin cancer...period end of discussion.  My daughter got her surgery while in college under the same policy that covered my skin cancer.  When I first took the policy she had not had any symptoms of U.C. (they first appeared while she was a freshman in high school) so was covered by the policy when it developed.  After she could no longer remain on my policy she was unable to get coverage of any colon related issues through different carriers at 2 jobs or her husband's insurer after she married.  Only when Obamacare became available was she able to get covered for ALL conditions!  So this is your 2d telling of this , shall we say, less than completely correct tale.  It was wrong then and it is wrong now!

That's right I make up lies to post here. The reality is all three insurance companies did it just for me cut I'm such a great guy.  Copper proved nothing.  What am I to believe,  his posts or my life experience. Look it up.  It's Calle certificate for creditable coverage.
