Johnson isn't even thinking of voting g for himself.  He says if he doesn't make first debate stage he is out.  So I  essence he is out now because he will never get to 15%.

This is definitely an option for people who are conflicted about both candidates.   I still believe that one of the outcomes of this election could be the development of a third party movement that will be much more robust....especially if Trump loses and takes GOP dominance out the door with him.

Seems to me that it's more likely to be a Libertarian Party than the Green party that will emerge as strongest in this election, because there seem to be more Republicans needing an alternative to Trump than Liberals & Progressives dissatisfied with Clinton.

There are only so many (10%) true socialist available to form a new party, counting the three on this forum.

If Rubio or Jeb or even Graham was the GOP candidate I would seriously be looking at Johnson because the nation would be in responsible hands if either of them or Hillary won.  I think Hillary's positions on foriegn relations and military affairs are closer to mine than the Libertarian's, but she does have lots of baggage.  It is just that I honestly fear the probable results with a President Trump.  I think he will be a disaster for the nation and for the planet!

I hope after this election there will be either a strong and viable new party along the lines of the Libertarians or a rebuilt GOP without the overwhelming stiffling influence that the T Party and extreme evangelicals have on the party today.  This is the 21st century and the rejection of common sense tax / economic policy and science has no place in it if we are to remain a great nation.

I think your point in fearing Trump is well taken, especially after we have had a DO NOTHING in the WH for the last 8 years.

You have stated an OPINION as a FACT.   A very typical tact on this forum.  In my OPINION you are wrong...but that is just my opinion. You are entitled to your opinion and hope you grant me the same right.  If I had the time and inclination l could offer lots of verifiable evidence to demonstrate your opinion about Obama is incorrect.  You may not agree with what he has done, but he has not been a do nothing president!

Now, the reason I fear Trump is not because I think he would be a ''do nothing'' but because I think he would be a very much ''do something'' with almost all of it causing damage to our nation!

architect, you seem to be hung up on this opinion v fact thing!  Are you referring to DS Realist most recent post?  I think he has presented opinion in both segments of the statement, and do not see him throwing it as fact.  We state opinions on this forum, almost totally.  Does he need to always start or end the statement with IMHO, just so you will know?

Of course we all often give an opinion as a statement without announcing it as opinion and that is normal and accepted...the blanket statement that Obama has done nothing during his presidency does not, in my opinion, fall in that category.

There are those, my self included and I believe you also, who when stating opinion as fact also try, at least on occasion, to give the references to back it up.  There are others, you know who they are, who like nothing more than to pop off with ridiculous claims not even close to true.

You talking about me? Of course you are. But here the thing Archie, YOU HAVE NEVER PROVEN ONE WRONG, INCORRECT OR FALSE STATEMENT MADE BY ME.  You claim a lot of my stuff to be all that but I have dared and implored you to prove me wrong.  You can't.  That is a FACT.  Prove me wrong this time. I am a prolific poster,  surely can find a lie somewhere.  In fact several times when challenged I provided references or ways to find the I found yourself.  NOT ONCE ARCHY,  NOT ONCE CAN YOU PROVE A LIE.  But what the hell, you refer to me as a right wing nut so that's proves you're an idiot. That's a Fact Archy.

''Abortion is murder''...whether you like it or not, that is an OPINION and not a fact in law!

You want to play the nomenclature game? Murder is defined as taking a life. Maybe homicide works better for you? Taking a life is murder even when it is in the form capital punishment.  Only difference is it is state sanctioned,  like how abortions are Democrat sanctioned murders of unborn children. Don't believe me? Kill a pregnant woman with a fetus of sustainable life outside the womb and see if you don't get charged with two murders. Just because you are an idiot and don't agree with a position does NOT make that position false. Abortion is Democrat sanctioned murder!  There I stated it again.  Still true.

And BTW-Aak the abortion doctor that went to prison for murder doing late term partial birth abortions how he defines it.

OK, based on your own words, then we are in agreement that if the abortion occurs before viability (while it is typically legal nationwide) it is not murder and if it occurs after viability (while it is illegal nationwide with rare medical exceptions) it is something else altogether!  Glad you agree with me lifer in support of a woman's rights during the early weeks of a pregnancy. Also happy you agree with me that the death penalty is the uncivilized state sanctioned murder of an already viable (born) human being. Sound as if we are on the same page on some issues!!

BTW, we are a nation ruled by laws, not religious opinion nor belief.  Let's keep it that way.

You are probably gonna regret you said that.
