Do we really need the government telling us who can use what bathroom especially when it puts people at risk?

No.  Neither Federal nor STATE!!

I doubt you can find very many examples of male ''perverts" sneaking into the women's room, but can guarantee that the few that do will not be awayed to mend their ways by what Gov McCrory does or says.

The most disturbing aspect of this NC law was not the bathroom provision, but the part that prohibits a local county, or city government, or local school board from passing any laws or regulations specifically prohibiting discrimmination against gays!!  Such laws had been passed in several NC cities and counties and were deleted by the state law.  You tell me why conservatives alway jump up and down about the ideal of ''local control'' until a local entidy does something they disagree with...then it's back to ''big brother knows best''!

I wasn't aware there was a bathroom "problem" until NC passed the law.  Seems a bit much, considering transgneders are such an infintisimal percentage of the population.

Thank God Hound and I still agree on something.

You can always count on nutty legislators to find a solution to a nonexistant problem.  I saw a letter online that a transexual man who was born as a woman sent to McCrory.  It went along the lines: ''I was born female and grew up a tomboy and as an adolescent felt I should be a man.  Over several years and many operations I have become a man.  I look like a man, dress as a man and have the external organs of a man. Governor I hope you are happy that now, thanks to your signature on this law, I will have to use the restroom with your wife and daughter.''

You just can't make this stuff up.  Did we really have to decide something that wasn't an issue?

Apparently.  And we have Jenner to thank for it.
