Subject:   Trump's post-debate performance
Date:   9/28/2016 11:35:21 PM

From Washington (CNN), 9/28/16        “Donald Trump is angry that his aides and advisers have conceded to reporters -- largely without attribution -- that the Republican nominee struggled in his first presidential debate.

In a conference call with surrogates Wednesday afternoon, Trump aides made clear the Republican nominee is upset that his allies publicly acknowledged they pushed him to change his preparation and tactics before his next bout with Hillary Clinton. And he wants them to stop it immediately.

The message was "not subtle," a source familiar with the call said.

Trump wants his supporters to make an energetic defense of his performance and refuse to concede that he didn't nail it.”

Everybody should be paying attention to Donald Trump right now.   In spite of all polling, he maintains that he won the debate and cannot concede that he looked unprepared to discuss policy issues like he knew something about them.   And, tonight there are reports that he is angry at his own staff members for conceding in their conversations that he didn’t do too well in their opinion either.    He didn’t prepare and it shows....his staff can't deny it.

But he is angry because he wants them to believe he did as well as he says he did….sorta regardless of the evidence.

That trait is something everyone should be paying close attention to.   He can’t accept a failure, so he insists he did not fail… furthermore, he will be angry anyone who doesn’t agree with him.   That is malignant narcissism, and it is a really dangerous personality trait in a world leader.

A guy like this doesn’t learn from his mistakes.   He diverts attention from them, denies they happened & shifts blame to someone else.    He’s done that over & over, and over, and over, and over……….

Don't take my word for it.   Listen to him.

You obviously do not understand the situation Copper.  Trump ''understands'' what is wrong with America better than anybody, and is  therefore is the ''only'' he is qualified to solve them.  He has already explained that to us, weren't you listening to the RNC?

And with that diatribe, you have described Barack Hussein Obama, but you are totally clueless.

TRUMP did have a couple of issues at the first debate:

1.  He and his advisors listened to the liberal media and "played nice" to "LADY" HILDA B.....H, while she played nasty and screeched as usual.

2.  He was involved in a 2 on 1  tag bar fight, while he continued to "play nice".

You won't see such again.  THE B.......H is goin' down.

Will not accept failure is a great trait in a President in my opinion and Trump wouldn't be a billionaire if he didn't learn from mistakes.

It seems to me if you can equate any thought, personality and temperment driven words or actions by Obama with Trumps similar words or action after the debate (and before for that matter), you are either deaf as a post or not paying attention.  The comparison is noty there.  You may not agree with what Obama says, but he is at least lucid when he says it.  PLEASE listen with an open mind to Trump's Miss Universe comments on O'Reilly last night.

Are you talking about the miss universe that went on to pose in playboy,  do Porno, and even have sex on live reality TV? She was also engaged to another man when she did the live sex show. Or maybe your favorite is the story about her being involved in a murder and then threatening to kill the judge.. That miss universe? Nah,  couldn't be the same one. Surely the virtuous democraps wouldn't try to pass a pornstars off as a credible surrogate for Hildabeast would they. What a fine upstanding example of Hillary fighting for women everywhere.

Certainly right.   I really don't understand....but I am trying to make sense of it.   So far, I'm thinking that Trump has mastered the art of marketing in a way that we will be studying for years to come... as an example of how reframing facts can grossly shape public perception of reality among the believers.......

Trump's assertion that he 'won' the debate stands in stark contrast to what people saw, to what polls confirm, and to common sense.  However, his marketing tactic is to loudly claim victory while casting doubt on the fairness of the moderator & questions.

This is pretty much the same as the marketing strategy that tells us that cigarettes will make you sexy & successful but may also kill you. You have to hold two contradictory beliefs in your mind to buy the product, and Trump is asking that everyone hold two contradictions as well.

What he is saying is this:   "It only LOOKS like I wasn't prepared and lost the debate...... actually I won.   And if you don't believe me, you're the enemy."

The Emperor has no clothes, but his supporters praise how well he is dressed.

I have a theory that supporters base most of their confidence in Trump simply on the fact that he is very rich.   There is an assumption that if someone is rich, they must also be extremely  intelligent, well-educated & prepared for all things thrown in their way, unaffected by the lure of additional financial gain.   It's like the Prosperity Gospel:   If you are rich, this means God loves you more.

Trump has made a career of selling himself as smarter & better AT EVERYTHING simply because he is wealthy.   The proof that he is a better man is that he is richer than everybody else.   The technique of selling his brand name, plastering this on high rise buildings around the world... which he does not own, by the way... gives the appearance that he has grown a great empire of possessions.   But it's not true.  He hasn't actually built anything in many years.

However, Forbes magazine has just released their estimations that his net worth is south of $3 billion... far from the $10 billion he has told you about.

But then, we can't begin to get to the truth without looking at his taxes, can you?

I have to disagree with you on this Copper.  there is one reason and one reason only that most , not all, but most of the people on this forum are for Trump...he has that R after his name.  Whether or not he is actually a Republican makes no difference...the R is there. These guys would support a candidate who is serving time in the prison loony ward For child rape as long as that R was there.

The truth is that the Miss Universe in Question gained 55 lbs after her win while she was under contract to make appearance as Miss Universe.  She was already a bit beefy for the pagent rounds, and to gain 55 lbs was not good for the brand, and Trump fired her. She put herself out in the public arena to be judged on her looks, Trump did not force her out there.  I'm sure he looked at it like breech of contract.

As far as his wife - she was pursuing a career as a model.  She was quite young at the time.  I wonder if anyone here would like to be judged for decisions or things they did when they were young.  It wasn't like she was doing porn, or starring in porno movies. I don't think she showed much more than they do in the Victoria Secret's catalog.  She is not still modeling, she is a wife and mother and involved in Charities.   She is a beautiful woman and she keeps to herself as much as she can.

I don't necessarily think that either Trump or Clinton "won" the debate.  Lester Holt made a sham of it, and it wasn't any different than any other day in this election cycle.

I'm voting for change and I could care less if he was a Republican or a Democrat.  He's not my ideal candidate, but he represents the kind of change we need.  If he doesn't bring the change he is saying he will, he will be out in 4 years.

What I am not doing is voting the cult of personality.  And that is what I think that a lot of people are engaged in - not a war of ideas or plans, but the cult of one personality over another.  As far as personlity, I think Hillary came across as smug and condesending at the debate.

Arch, can you not comprehend that a lot of Trump's support is not because he is the Republican nominee, but because Hillary Clinton is the Democrat nominee and the Democrat party is considered to be (by those that support Trump) the main source of everything that ails this country.  Whether you agree is irrelevant.  Not being able to comprehend this thinking and logic is relevant and just like Copper, I have to think you are clueless to the reasons for Trump support.  Regardless of Trump's shortcomings, we see him as the only choice for changing the direction (death spiral) of this country.

I comprehend your support for Hillary because obviously you don't think anything is wrong with the direction of this country.  If you do think there are major problems, why haven't those problems been addressed during two terms of Barack Obama.  Don't give me any BS about the Republicans causing gridlock.  Obama has gotten everything he has wanted with the support of the Republicans.  Hillary will simply be the third and possible the fourth terms of Barack Obama.  If you don't think there are any problems, then I fully comprehend your vote for the nominee with (D) behind their name.

The hypocrisy is laughable.  We're are deplorable because we blindly support Trump because he has the R behind his name.  Yet they admit Hillary is a flawed candidate but blindly support her because she is the Democrat nominee. Sad but true only Republicans are blinded by ideology in the liberal world.

I am in no way pleased with what is happening and not happening in this country and do think we need to move in another direction but down the Trump rat hole is not the direction I think we need to go.  There have been many efforts by the less idelogical members of both parties to move us in a less partisan tinged direction.  A direction that requires compromise.  Compromise is the only way to steer a diverse nation but in today's world run by extreme ideolgues on both sides the very idea of compromise is condemned as a negative.

We would be better off without the T Party and the 99 Percenters.  Trump has made it clear he is completely ready to kow tow to the T Party crowd while Clinton has made it clear she has no plans to carry water for the 99 Percenters.

So, is that bad that the clinton's are multi millionairs?  Is it bad that Trump is a billionaire?  No!  It is not how much money you have but how you use it and how you don't use it.  Trump considers his money proof that he is brilliant.  He isn't!

My theory doesn't apply to every Trump supporter, it's just a stab at trying to explain those who have previously made Christian values a mainstay of their voting habits.   Trump can't be described as a pious & religious man who follows core Christian doctrines of humility & the Golden Rule.......

People who think he is appropriately devoted to Christian values are having to actively ignore much of what he has said, what he has done, and how he conducts himself in the present day.
