Would someone who follows sports please explain to me what is with the "black out" craze in football games. Watched two this afternoon that had all black uniforms instead of school colors. Even recently saw same at a high school game. Understand the pink for breast cancer, but black.......what's up?

Good football teams rely on blocking, tackling and execution of assignments.
Those teams that rely on gimmick uniforms usually end up looking rather silly.
The Starkville Bulldogs probably disagree.

If memory serves me, which is questionable the days, USA Bulldogs were the first division 1 team to do it as an I timid at ion tactic against some team where a GA win was crucial for SEC rankings or some such nonsense. It was coordinated with the student body to have as much black in the stands as possible also. It makes sense in so much as their colors are red and black.

With a win over Georgia, Kentucky could move into first place SEC East (yes, in football)
