some are open; all have been renovated. all the olds ones closed in the 80s-90s because of AIDS

Thanks.  I grew up in Pine Bluff and remember when they forced the gambling to cease.  Been by the bath houses many times but was a youngster and never saw the need to partake.  Sister and BIL had an A frame on Lake Hamilton for a while. Fun times.

I just helped a friend with burial of her mother. In the process to file death certificate, the funeral home rep said they are no longer allowed to use the terms mother or father. They have to use the term parent for everyone.

that place rivals Detroit for urban decay. I think 2 or 3 buildings along their main street have collapsed onto the street and a section of it was blocked off for over a year. sad.

If "that place" means Pine Bluff I have to agree.  My sister finally left town and relocated to be near one of her daughters when she got tired of calling 911 and stating "shots fired on West 27th".  Fortunately she was not the recipient of one of those shots.
