Alabama needs to give up politics!  We are our own worst enemy.

You know, I have a theory that those who thump their Bible the loudest, and speak the loudest aobut their Christian Values, usually have a skeleton or two in their closet.

The person who doesn't is rare.  Of course in this case it is a she said/he said and we will probably ever know for sure.

When did Hillary start calling herself phil?

Not just Alabama, but since the latest sexual harassment charge involves an Alabamian who is running for a Senate seat, it seems appropriate.  Real Christians don't have to tell everyone about their Chrisitan values, because they live them and everyone can see it in their actions.

Yes, it is a he said/she said and we will likely never know, but unless they can prove some huge link on her part to Democrats, it wouldn't surprise me that she is telling the truth.  I wonder about her timing in coming forward, but perhaps with all the other people coming forward, perhaps this is the first time she felt 'safe" doing so.

Makes sense since I was more or less quoting GFY = Hillary.

hence the /Sarcasm tag :)

If there is any money to follow.  Took Alabama long enough to figure that out with our lovebug former governor.

My question is this:  If his fellow Republicans are abandoning him, will he be an effective legislator?  He's already on thin ice for some of his more questionable decisions while in office.  I'm seriously considering writing someone in.

I've always had bad gut about Moore, well before this.  There is something about him that just doesn't set well with me.

I think it works better if he is elected, sworn in, disgraced and forcced to resign, and then gov Ivey appoints someone else.

Thats the whole point of this swamp operation, tdog. They only have to get a few percent of people who would have voted for moore to either switch or just not vote. Doesn't matter if it's true or not, as long as they win. Remember Harry reeds lie about Romney not filing taxes. When asked about his lie the piece of excrement smirked and sai "it worked. We won."

I'm inclined to believe the story also. But given the story of the witness it sounds like Moore was more imature than a predator and what choice do we have? If the vote gets split up and Doug Jones wins we give all the do nothing Dems and Rhinos a victory and nothing of importance will get passed for the next couple of years. We also add another senator to the swamp that thinks aborting a baby 1 minute before bitrh is ok but if they survive the goverment should provide all thier needs for the next 80 years. Like I said no choice!

A DNC volunteer rants about removing Trump, makes an accusation from 40 years ago, with no way to prove it, just weeks before an election? The left is filthy. Baa sheep baa

Yes, I suppose, but there are 3 women making accusations.  And he admits that he dated 3 of them.  We always talk about draining the swamp, but here we have another alligator and here we go again.  I guess I just don't know why we would elect another corrupt politician.  This is only one situation in which there is questionable behavior.  No matter how you feel about gay marriage, I have a problem with a judge that says that a Supreme Court ruling doesn't apply to him or his state.  And then there is the talk about the foundation that he and his wife started and supposedly took money for themselves.  And the thing with erecting the 10 commandments outside the courthouse - I still want seperation of church and state.  Then he gave himself a raise, while cutting the salaries of his staff.

I'm not advocating voting for Doug Jones but I am seriously considering writing in someone else.  Going to do some time reseaching.

Alabama Accuser Deletes Anti-Moore Postings from FB, Rants About Removing Trump from Office

A woman who alleges that she engaged in a legal and consensual but inappropriate relationship with Republican senatorial candidate Roy Moore has deleted multiple political postings from her Facebook page.

Some of those postings by Deborah Wesson Gibson were critical of Moore while one was related to Moore’s Democratic opponent, Doug Jones.

One posting shows a picture of Gibson with Vice President Joe Biden and says that she did work for him in 2012.  One older version of that image is still on her page while another more recent posting of that same image in response to a posting from Jones’s official campaign Facebook page was removed, but was captured by Breitbart News.

Reached by Breitbart News, Gibson said that she has no comment on the removals of her Facebook posts.

Other posts still active on her page repeatedly urge the immediate removal of President Donald Trump from office and show that Gibson “likes” far-left activist groups.  She also pushed a petition drive to remove Steve Bannon from the National Security Council last February when Bannon was serving as the White House chief strategist.

I guess you can write in a vote, t. But if you decide to do that why don't you just stay home and save some gas? A write in is a wasted vote. If you do not vote for moore you are voting for jones. Jones is not the Mr nice guy the press is trying to portray. He is a devious liar, and is misrepresenting his past political life to try and con moderate voters.

Like you I have sometimes been puzzled by Moore's legal stands in the past. However, if you do some research you will find he is not just some confrontational fool. He displays an intriguing and advanced level of legal history and logic to justify his positions. I don't claim to have the legal background to explain it, but it boils down to limits on federal power and even limits on the power of the supreme court, who have increasingly overstepped their judicial jurisdiction and taken power from the legislative branch in an unconstitutional manner. His opponents try to make him look like a religious zealot and fool, but he is definitively not.

"Write In" (except with a Moore resignation and concerted GOP effort for one write in candidate) = a Ross Perot situation.

Perhaps you are right and I just may not vote.

I'm sure Moore has his reaasons for the things he has done, but I don't want someone being my senator who wants to make his own points based on his own reasoning.  What i want is someone who respresents what his constituents want, and can work with other people to pass legislation.  And I don't think Moore will be that.  Those that haven't already written him as a nut job, he will alienate with his unwillingness to compromise.

It's not that I believe or do not believe that he molested someone 30 years ago.  Its not that I agree with sexual assault.  But if this is going to follow him into Congress, he won't be focused on what he is there for.

And Clinton told America and our childen that a blow job wasn't sex THANKS. Clintons best contribution was ushering in a GOP house and senate that saved our economy and balance the budget which Clinton gladly takes credit for.

Well, Ivey says no delay, and McConnell wants Moore to step down, as do 6 other sitting Senators.   If he did step down (which I don't see him doing)  would that default to a Doug Jones win?  There is talk about letting him be elected and then eject him from the Senate.

Where are all the smart Alabamian who don't have a ton of political and personal baggage?  How will we ever move forward in this state if we keep voting in questional people?  I personally felt outraged when Shelby was re-elected in his 80s - at what point do the voters say enough is enough, since a lot of these old timers don't seem to know when it is time to retire.

What about State Legislators who could serve at the national level?  Are there any?
