Yeah, it's just a coincidence that the economy takes off after Trump takes pro-economic growth steps but that idiot wants to take credit.  No one really believes him.  Those that claim to are simply being ideological over using facts, reason and logic.  Now if Trump had not lowered taxes, had not dramatically cut red tape and bureaucratic nonsense, etc. and Obummer had done one thing to help the economy I would give his claim some credence.  But the reality is that Trump took concrete steps to improve the economy and it worked.  The winning keeps coming....

What the heck are you talking about CRD?  I made no comment about the unemployment percentage rate, nor the unemployment rate as relates to the number of new jobs, nor a comparison of the rate of unemployment under either Obama or Trump.  I did point out that the number of new jobs in our economy was higher in Obama's last 21 months than Trump's first 21 and that the stock market rise was greater (LOTS greater considering the last couple of weeks!!) during that same time period under Obama than under Trump.  Now, it seems that if the vast majority on this forum give unending praise and hallelujahs for Trumps performance then shouldn't hrere be at least a slight tip of their caps to Obama?  The fact is neither of them deserve very much credit.

Oh!  Excuse, my bad.  I forgot you are each and everyone hypocrites and damn proud of it!!

My opinion:  Any progress made on the economy during Obama's presidency was made in spite of his policies, not because of his policies. He was the most anti-business president in modern history, with many quotes available that would tend to support my opinion.  It is only the drive to succeed in business that might be responsible to the meager growth during his reign.

Further, in my opinion, the great strides the economy has made during Trump's presidency is because business feels they can risk expansion with little risk of being consumed by multiple debilitating regulations.  The business climate is much more favorable for growth without penalty.  A lot of it is psychological.

Finally, in my opinion this country was built on and will thrive on entrepreneurs who are willing to move forward and reap the benefits of the risks they take without a massive bureocracy sapping the life out of the fruits of their efforts.

Now you can rangt and rail all you want, but this entire post is my opinion.  Deal with it.

I do not happen to agree with most of what you say, but you may be surprised that I do see the logic in some of your statements.  I appreciate your reply.  It is a reasonable and respectful statement of your beliefs...it would be nice if it established a new trend on this forum.

I know you will think that I need to contribute to that trend.  I try to be reasonable in my opinions but I will always try to counter opinions stated incorrectly as fact with actual facts (the entire reason for my first post in this string). 

I have had an awareness of 13 presidents in my living memory beginning with Truman.  Some I agreed with and some I did not, but I never doubted for one minute that each president was working every minute of every day for what he honestly believed was in the best interest of the nation and all its citizens.  That comfort ended with Trump.  In my opinion Trump's first concern is Donald Trump and, when necessary, the 30 to 40% of the citizens who will support him regardless.  That is my opinion, but it is a strongly held opinion and will not change until the president, by actions and words, convinces me I am wrong.  So far, that possibility grows dimmer by the day.

My point is Archie, I would not be hanging my hat on Obama's job growth numbers unless you take into consideration the unemployment rate in that same period of time.  The numbers under Trump's admininstration are far more significant as he has not only the job growth numbers, but also has dropped the unemployment rates of a broad spectrum of individuals.  The fact that you can even look into the mirror and say you were either better  or equally well off during Obama's years leads me to believe that you need to change financial advisors.

Do you really believe that Trump wanted all of this crap to satisfy his ego?  He had a very comfortable life.  He didn't need this.   I am impressed that he was willing to sacrifice all of that for the sake of smaller government, deregulation of small businesses, smarter trade deals, upgrades to our military, VA improvement, tax cuts and Supreme Court nominees.  I thank God for his vision for this country and his efforts to MAKE IT GREAT AGAIN!!  I hope you have to live through another six years of his successes.

Then your hypocrisy is showing again.  Yes the average enemployment rate under Obama was much higher than under Trump, but if you insist we must go back to where it all began then you must make the comparison with W, not Obama.  When Obama came into office the unemployment rate began to to go in a positive direction within 2 months and has basically continued to improve with an occasional interruption ever since.  So if you are trying to be honest, shouldn't you be comparing the current Republican president's record with the previous Republican president's record rather than the record of the intervening president who resided over the turn around?

BTW:  I do not have a financial advisor.  I am better off today financially than when Trump was sworn in, but the percentage improvement in my assets were definitely better under Obama.  I suspect your's were too!  As for the nation's moral portfolio, I think we are approaching bankruptcy!

How can you say that Donald Trumps only concern is Donald Trump? You make no sense saying that all the positive changes that have been made over the last two years only apply to the 30 to 40% of the citizens who support him. I don't think President Trump has the power to select those he wants to receive the benefit of the changes.
