looking for a large map of Lake Martin similar to the one in “Lake” magazine that is suitable for framing showing major landmarks (marinas, housing developments, etc).  Any ideas?  I plan to call the ad person in the magazine to see if they have ideas.

There are places online where you can order them with some customizations. Good luck. I have one I love framed. It was actually in my dad's old place. I don't know where he got it but I've never seen another like it. A friend had one he bought on the internet that was nice.

Several years ago I Bought a customized map 4’ x 5’ of the lake area.  Got it on the National Geographic Maps website.  You can set the parameters (borders) on line and NG prints to your dimension and size from the old Federal Maps (1970’s).  Neat look in color and shows the old cabins, etc.  Cost was about $55.00.

I understand about the website.  I checked it out before I posted and it has a lot of stuff new, so I don’t know if they still offer the custom or not, but the way it worked was they put a US map on the screen then you delineated the boundary you wanted.  My map is made up of four of the old maps, all printed on a single sheet.

No there are no maps of the lake that I could find.  Still searching.  Should like there might be a market out there.  I’ll let folks know when I find a source.

Where have you looked? You can get nice maps at just about any area marina, gas station, or Walmart, and more than a few other places too. And there is good variety as well. (I have a different style of lake map hanging in every room of my house, plus a stack of other lake maps that didn't make the decorating cut.)

There is even a link on this website that takes you to a site where you can buy an up-to-date Cart-o-craft map, which seems to be the one that is most often for sale in area businesses.

I have several copies of this map. I keep one in each boat for nav purposes. They are good size maps, and are vinyl coated for using in the rain. I believe I bought them at either Academy or WallyWorld. Good luck. They are very colorful.
