On Friday July 5, the lead administration lawyer defending Trump's plans for the census told the judge in the case ''The Tweet this morning was the first I heard of the President's (current) position on this issue, just like the plaintiffs and your honor.  I do not have a deeper understanding of what they mean at this juncture other than what the President tweeted.  But, obviously, as you can imagine, I am doing my absolute best to figure out what is going on,''

First of all Archie, may I suggest that you read the entire transcript involving the Judge, Plaintiffs attorneys and DOJ. Easily retrievable.

The conference call was July 3, not July 5th.

The DOJ attorney was apologized to by the Judge for having to interupt HIS VACATION in order to participate in this CC.  Don't know about you when on vacation, but I tend to drop all business related mental activity and responsibilities in order to devote time to my spouse and family.   I would imagine that Mr. Gardner, the DOJ attorney that made this statement in the CC, was in the same frame of mind.  Not to mention, was he even in the US?  What time zone was he in?  The DOJ was, according the the DOJ attorney also in this CC, exploring another Supreme Court strategy under the original ruling that might allow the question regarding citizenship to go forward.  The judge understood this and gave all parties until July 5th to respond.  You won't get this from the Huff Post Archie......

"One if by land,

Two if by sea,

Three if by air."

Which is better than the previous quote, "I luv hamberders!"

The Judge stated in the transcript that all government attorneys including Mr. Gardner had been nothing but professional and candid with the Court.  If she felt that they had lied to the Court, do you think she would have offered that statement on a transcribed conference call?  Be serious Fish.    Mr. Gardner was on vacation.  He had every excuse to not have immediately heard of Pres. Trump's position, and the Judge apparently agreed, giving him 48 hours to the DOJ to clarify positions and develop any new strategy.  Must I spoon feed this you and Archie?

What in the name of heaven does all that blather have to do with the lawyer's expression of typical Trumpian confusion?

BTW:  I did read the entire transcript of the hearing but was not addressing the hearing...I was presenting the attorney's statement of loss and confusion which, as I indicated, rather sums up the organizational chaos that defines the current adminsitration.  A Keystone Kops outfit where the left hand never knows what the right hand is doing and most members couldn't pour piss out of a boot if the instructions were printed on the heel!!

This judge did not accuse the Trumpster of lying...it was Justices Roberts, Ginsberg, Hagan, Sotomayor, and Bryer that dropped that bomb!

Of course, since the lead attorney and his fellow lawyers have been today dismissed and replaced by Trump's lap dog AG, the Dear Leader must have not had as much sympathy and confidence and was less impressed with Mr Gardner than you are.

Must I spoon feed the facts to you CRD?

Archie,

If you can find for me in Judge Roberts opinion, or those various other opinions offered by various judges for segments of his opinion that accuse Trump of lieing, please reference those.  I have attempted to speed read the written opinion and can't find any.  What I can find is that the Sec of Commerce has the right to ask the citizenship question.  The case was referred back to the district court opinion until the Gov't attorneys can devise a strategy that indeed addresses the Voting Rights Act question.  It is an interesting opinion in that so many of the Supremes weigh in for and against Roberts (All Conservative).  It is disappointing that the Libs on the court offer very little in their ability to provide a nuanced discourse that would cause them to leave their reservation, if even for a short period of time.

Regarding Trump's decision to assign a new legal team, you all still don't get it.  He is a businessman.  If he wants to fire individuals for their lack of ability to get his agenda accomplished, so what?  This is how he has lived his entire professional life.  It is what he was elected to do.  Rid the swamp of ineffective career government bureaucrats and replace them with individuals who will get the job done.  Gardner got so far, however, he was unable to deliver.  Trump relieves him of his duty.  I applaud him.

Done spoon feeding you for the day.  More to come tomorrow.
