Announces doubling the capital gains tax.  Who is really in control at the WH as I don't think even Joe Biden is that stupid?  He may be mentally diminished enough to read what they handed him, but not to actually believe this is a good idea at a time when the economy is recovering or well, for that matter, at any time.  Someone needs to whisper in his ear how many people actually own stocks these days.

One day does not a trend make...5 months may!  The market is up 17% since Biden was declared the president elect.  7% better than the same period for Der Groppenfuherer!

The truth hurts don't it MM?  Oh BTW, somebody need to whisper in MM's ear that the vast majority of Americans still do not own stocks today.  MM really needs to get out of his gated community on occasion.

Actually more people than not own stock or other security instrument (believe it was 60%).  Some of those don't know it and may have an interest in financial securities via pension, ira, union, etc.  

financial education must be taught from grade 1 until graduation to enable everyone to make the choice to invest and get richer.

Only 17% of Americans directly own shares of stock traded on the stock exchanges. The great majority of those do not actually manage and trade their stock but leave it to a money manager or investment advisor.

If you count all the Americans who own stock via mutual funds in a retirement account or pension fund the total goes up to 53%.  Of course many of these folks are not even aware they are vested in the equities market and have little or nothing to do with the management of these investments.  Believe me, these are not the folks MM Jason mind. 

I agree economics and investing/money management should be taught in schools including the fact that almost all aspects of the economy including GPD expansion, stock market performance and employment growth have performed better during Democratic administrations than Republican!

Now, tell me did your portfolio do better under the first 3 months of Trump or Biden?  For that matter did you do better between 2009-2012 or 2017-2020?
