I watched his speech to Congress.  In my opinion, he told Biden to man up and lead the free world and establish the no fly zone.  He called Biden's bluff on Biden's claims not to want to provoke Putin.  The Comgress gave him a standing ovation.  Biden just reiterated  what we are giving them.... rather like the West to throw money at the problem and consider it solved.  

Zelensky makes the case that they are a democratic nation with common principles with the West. So if Biden is going to claim himself the leader of the "free" world, he should be willing to defend Ukraine. Zelensky pointed out that WWIII may already be started.  

Didn't really expect much from Biden.  He's so afraid of making a decision that he can't pass off.

OK, we know Biden can’t think logically, make decisions, etc.  In your opinion, who is running the dimokrap show?  o-BAMMIE? Susan Rice? 1.   Can we  get Zolensky to be our President?    I know we can't but wouldn't it be nice

2.   I'm a 70 year old woman. I have no filter.   I will cuss like a sailor.   My views are "get over it, deal with it and move on".  I have changed on a lot of things over the years.    Tattoos (unless they cover your face and most of your body), then I don't understand.   Mixed marriages (and that really dates me) unless my granddaughter brings home a boy with his britches around his knees.   Thankfully, my granddaughter won't do that.

I listened to most of it and some things he said I think are not going to have the effect he desires.  Comparing the invasion to 9/11 and Pearl Harbor was fine rhetoric but the reality is when those things happened we didn't ask others to do our fighting, we did it ourselves.  The fact is that if we are involved in enforcing a no-fly zone we will have to shoot down Russian military aircraft.  That could indeed turn this into a much bigger conflict because the hawks in the Russian military will demand a response and Putin will have no choice.  So they sink one of our carriers or bomb the airfield where the planes came from.  Then we have to respond and suddenly we are in a shooting war with Russia....which is exactly what China wants to see happen so they can move on Taiwan.

The Ukraine thing is so weird right now.  We have left wing nuts and RINO neocons that seem to want to go to war with Russia, a senile President who is waiting for instructions and a cackling hyena as VPOTUS that made a complete a$$ of herself in Poland and humilitated the entire country with her ineptness and lack of even basic preparation.  We should be providing as much aid as possible to Ukraine, including F-16, anti tank and anti aircraft missiles, etc. to allow them to defend themselves, which they seem to be doing very well without this aid.  But at the end of the day Ukraine is a corrupt kleptocracy just like Russia and we have no business sending the American military there to fight for them.  It's in our strategic interest for them to defeat Russia but not to the point of our being actively involved.

I am torn on the question of the no-fly zone.  Other than the tricky matter of how to transfer the MIGS to Ukraine, I really think that is something that needs to happen.  We won't give them F-16s, because they don't know how to fly them and it would take too long to train them.

I'm not torn about it.  Ukraine needs it but there is no way we should be in the position of enforcing it.  That is certain to create a shooting war between us and Russia and no way Russia can win with conventional weapons.  They can't even defeat the Ukranians.....yet.  Certainly not easily.  You are correct about the F-16....hadn't thought about lack of training.  Hence the MIGs Poland offered which Dementia Joe nixed......because he is a senile moron. 

You know how to be certain what you should do with foreign policy?  Ask Biden for his opinion and do the opposite.

I assume if they did get the MIGS, Russia will just send up more planes. Think about it...they have 3863 military aircraft. Obviously, not all are warplanes but they will always have 100s more than Ukraine.

They are not the most corrupt country.....maybe top 5. :-)  Don't know anything about Nazi's in Ukraine nor do I care.  What I care about is to see Russia get the butts handed to them so they will crawl back into whatever hole they waited for Biden to crawl out of.  It's old and trite but the enemy of my enemy is my friend.  We don't need a reconstituted USSR which is Vlad's goal as it will not be a good thing.  That is my one and only interest.  So Ukraine is not the real issue here......Russia is.

I should have put /s after my post.  Again, I agree with you about Ukraine being a craphole of corruption.   But Russia is a much bigger problem and we do have a national security interest in seeing them contained.  So we help Ukraine inflict as much pain as possible without our direct involvement.

I enjoy the thoughtful debate and sarcasm. I could do without the occasional reduction in the SNR brought about by juvenile/imbecile blathering.

BUT, can I be undecided about the specifics? Don’t stop the reasonable debate.

Surely there is a meaningful intelligence think tank which examines this (Ukraine) conflict from the synthesis of all compartments. The problem is that they might be excused from the room for speaking up. Sometimes, reason is lost in the noise of the political pep-rally.

Like every reasonable citizen of this great nation, I’m holding my breath – holding to see if we can survive these times of mindless and selfish incompetence.

Hoarding of ammo has become a problem at Academy Sports. And, I’m just trying to buy 7 ½ shells for sporting clays. /s
