Do they deliver? Just need a partial load.

There is a place in Equality - I believe the name is Quality Earth Movers, that has a huge pile of rip rap sized rock in their material yard.  According to yellowpages.com their number is (334) 541-3875.

Be sure when you order to tell them to not forget your personal copy of the brown banded water snake known to call riprap home.

Is that the one that looks like a common poisonous snake that prefers the woods?  I can't recall the name but there was one of your buddies holed up in our neighbor's riprap a few seasons ago.  He was small, maybe 15 inches long, and didn't take kindly to my messing with him with a broom, retreating to the safety of his riprap lair.

All the cottonmouthwaterrattlers like that riprap!  I killed a 7.5ft Timber Rattler in some back in my youth.  That snake was the size of my calf.  13 rattles and a button.  I heard he tasted great but i missed the cookout when he was on the grill.

The snake I was thinking about is a copperhead. Mack does your riprap dweller look like a copperhead?

I killed a four foot timber rattler on our property close to Tallassee las summer.  He was fairly docile, possibly because he had just eaten. There was a rat sized bulge in his gut. He was curled up on the path from the house to the pond so I had to send him to the snake Promised Land.  Couldn't take a chance on his being "hangry" during a second encounter or having one of the kids accidentally step on him.
Also had to dispatch a 2 1/2 foot timber rattler who had been seeking shelter in a pile of roofing tin. It was in the Fall so he was moving really slowly.

I leave obviously non-poisonous snakes alone. They are especially good at keeping mice and rats at bay.

A healthy population of non-poisonous is a good sign you don't have any poisonous ones around because they would eat the good guys...lol.  But I still don't want to be floating in the water when one of the good ones pops up and gives me a heart attack and/or stroke.
