Finally an adult has informed one of the RINO's that he has no hope and is wasting his time and other people's money by running as a RINO.  He was the right kind of Republican for Maryland but had no hope on a national basis, much like Chris Christie was for NJ and despite the stomach tuck fell far short in 2016. 

Clearly he got good advice and actually took it.....now for the others, it seems not so much.  I get Haley, she's angling for VP and might be a decent choice for either Trump or DeSantis....not the best choice, but clearly not the worst.  Pence not so much.  He had his chance and his only hope was for Trump to win two consecutive terms leaving him as the presumptive nominee.  You roll the dice and take your chances and sometimes it comes up snake eyes.  Pompeo likewise has no hope nor does Ramaswany who despite having some very good ideas has zero name recognition.  He will be interesting to watch on the debate stage.

But as of today it's a two man race for the GOP nomination and I am really hoping DeSantis wins.....but not very confident.  He has to thread the needle in not alienating the 30% of the GOP base that are die hard Trump fans. 2023 and 2024 are going to be fun to watch with both parties.  Can Brandon hang in there?  Will there be primary challengers and will the Dem base vote like they poll?  Fun times.

Trump did so much good for the country in spite of all the distractions.  He is a lightening rod and there is much rumble in the skies.  I am not all that optimistic.  Even though the Dems will continue to run this country in the mud, the task at hand is tough:

(1)  Too many people are on the plantation, or at least perceive that govt is good for them.  

(2)  If Trump is the nominee there is so much negative that I am not sure the Good he did will be enough to pull independents, or even maintain the numbers that the Russians gave him in 2016.

(3)  If DeSantis is the nominee Trump will have no part of seeing him elected.  Whether he goes third party or not, he will pull a Ross Perot and sway too many votes away.

IMHO, the only hope is to have MSNBC/CNN succeed and get Trump in jail

I hope Trump is not the nominee.  He's got so much baggage at this point, that I don't think he will have mcch room to manuver.  I'd like to think DeSantis, but how he has this thing with Bluck history class and that will be a liability.  Like it or not, he'll take his licks.  

Pence is a non-starter.  He's now assocaitd with kiling Medicare and SS.  And he really has no charisma.  

I think you are right about Niki Haley - VP.  

I keep hoping that someone who hasn't beeing makng noises is thinking about jumping in.  

LOoks like Biden will be the nominee, unless something happens to him.  The question is will he dump Kamala for Mooshelle?

Agree with both possibilities.  What I cannot see is Haley and Trump or DeSantis and Lake.  Those would be oil and water.
