What a shocker.....not.  I suppose when you have a city falling apart all around you, a DA office in turmoil and criminals being let go it's a grand way to distract from all the failures.  Soros got his money's worth with this one, especially when you consider even the Feds knew it was a loser case.  Lots of wealthy men who have paid for silence should be a bit nervous....nah, I'm kidding.  No DA would bring a charge like this, have to use dubious legal theory to upgrade to a felony to get inside the statute of limitations and look forward to the humiliation of an acquittal.  Then again, this will be a NYC jury so you never know.

I just read an article that said he was indicted on 30 counts of business fraud, but couldn't find a list of what it was.  Unless he used campaign funds to pay off Stormy, I'm not sure there is any legal basis for that indictment.  It's all political and every one knows it.  As far as I know, there is no law against giving someone money, unless you use campaign funds.

Apparently it all hinges on his former lawyer who is a known liar, convicted felon and hates Trump with a passion.  It will not be a good experience for him in either depositions or at trial if it goes that far.  Cohen's former lawyer already showed the grand jury that Cohen swore under oath that Trump didn't know about the payment before it was made and that it came out of his personal account and was not a campaign donation.

It's all a fraud because they think it will make Trump being the nominee a done deal...which they want because they think they can beat him.  I tend to agree with them but hope I'm wrong.

It's weird, but every time Democrats in a moment of derangement do something stupid it comes back to haunt them.  And when it does they whine and moan like a bunch of three year olds.  Get rid of the judicial filibuster and boom, we have a 6-3 SCOTUS is a perfect recent example.  So now former Presidents will be hounded with indictments regardless of the merits of the case, because you know, they did it to Trump.  And this is all about trying to make sure he gets the nomination and it will likely work.  They better pray to the good lord that he isn't elected because if he is it will be payback time.  And he!! hath no fury like a NY developer with power.

Being indicted is not the same as being convicted.  I'm sure this DA is lookng for a political step up for his career.  If all they have is that he once exaggerated the square footage of his apartment, I don't see much of a case.

The indictment of Trump was recommended by the Grand Jury. They heard the evidence including witnesses and had the choice of recommending no indictment. It has nothing to do with square footage.

The square footage will be another indictment brought by New York State. He signed off on inflated property values inorder to borrow more money than he was entitled to. His signature is obviously worth nothing.

Hate to see a former President indicted. He and his supporters thought it was funny to shout "Lock her Up". All his supporters on the Forum thought it was funny. But, when Trump is indicted it is suddenly not funny. Come on dude, he is a pathetic person who has cheated workers like his supporters for years. This indictment is minor compared to the next three.

Hillary was never President.  Unless you still believe in the Russia collusion nonsense....which you probably do because of TDS.  I suggest you look at what Jonathon Turley and Alan Dershowitz have said and written about this indictment.  Even the WaPo in a moment of random journalism stated that this was a terrible case to indict a former President for the first time in the history of the country.  But like I said, all bets are off and red state DA's now have an open season hunting license for former Democrat Presidents.  Like all the other cases of Democrat overreach it will come back to haunt them...bigly.

As for me I not only regret it for the awful precedent it sets, especially given it having already been rejected twice by Federal prosecutors, but because it makes it more likely that Trump will win the nomination.  And more likely he will lose in 2024....which means we will have another four years of objectively awful results for the country.

I suggest you also look at the standard they will have to meet to convict.  In order to prove fraud under this statute not only do they have to overcome lousy, lying witnesses and the statute of limitations but they have to prove that Trump stole the money from someone else.  Since we already know he repaid Cohen though a legal fee charge that will be impossible to prove because it never happened.  Bragg knew all this but went ahead anyway...because of politics.  And even if he is convicted in NYC, something highly likely to happen given the jury pool, he will win on appeal.  Only a politically corrupt Soros bought and paid for DA would have pursued this....not to mention his own TDS.

"Hillary was never President" And your point ?????? Are you suggesting Trump should not be indicted cause he was President?

As I posted, this indictment is minor. This will OTJ training for the indictment to come for the stupid phone call he made to the GA Sec State to find 11,000 votes. Then, the indictment for stealing the documents and the Jan 6 insurrection. Gee, I almost forgot the under valuing his property. Donnie is a mess.

It is setting a terrible precedent for the futre, and weaponsizing the judicial system.  Every President from here on is goign to have to worry about this, because every single one is going to have some baggage that they don't want to talk about.  Donald has a lot of Democrats in NYC that don't like him - not because of his Preidency, but because of his baggage prior to being elected.  Micheal Cohen has been lying his ass off, trying to save his soul.  When Trump was making him a rich man, he had no particular moral objections.  I actually think less of him than I do of Trump.

If a jury finds that Trump broke the law, then I have no problem with him being convicted.  But this kind of flimsy charge is really setting a dangerous precident for all those who come after and they all know it.

You obviously don't know how a Grand Jury works and how easy it is to get an indictment.  Even Bill Barr, who loathes Trump, said it was an abomination and the case was pathetically weak.  Basically they indicted the man and not the crime.  So yes, a former President should never be indicted for something like this.  Nor should he be indicted for the call to Raffensberger any more than he should have been impeached for the two pathetic reasons.

Your hatred of Trump blinds you to the ramifications of this kind of petty political act.  But it's too late.....you will reap what you sow.  It's open season now to tie up political enemies in the U.S. just like any other tinpot country with indictment after indictment....doesn't matter if they are guilty or there was even a crime, just keep 'em focused on staying out of jail.  As Stalin said, "show me the man and I'll show you the crime."  All Alabama has to do is pass a law that makes it illegal to influence another country to force them to fire a prosecutor investigating his son's corruption, empanel a grand jury, indict Brandon and make him do his perp walk the day he leaves office.  Who is going to run from now on?  Why would they?  You idiot leftists NEVER think anything through because you are blinded by TDS.

"makes it illegal to influence another country to force them to fire a prosecutor investigating his son's corruption"  The Right tried to prove it with hearings but came back with nothing. You  think if it is on the internet and fits your argument then it is true. Your simple mind needs a double dose of my TDS drug.

As to Georgia...sad but not surprising that you support the illegal call since it bolsters your conspiracy theory that the loser won.

Sorry Goofy, but it's the truth.  It's one or the other.  It doesn't matter what others found about the Biden corruption.  All that matters is what you can convince a grand jury.....and it obviously doesn't take much.  Your point is so ironic given the fact that the Feds looked at the very same issue on two occasions and concluded no crime had been committed.  And yet a corrupt hack DA in NYC was able to get an indictment.  By the standard you are using no way should this have happened....but it did.  And it is now going to happen to every Democrat president.  They'll all be headed to a perp walk on the day they leave office so some GOP prosecutor can make a name for himself/herself...or distract from his/her failures or just for pure politics.  Your side did this...and you are happy about it.

It's hard to imagine you being any more dense.  TDS has broken your ability to think critically.....really think at all.

I sure hope the trial is on TV so we can see Democracy at work and his lawyers try to prove your theory that it is all political. As of today, he is just an innocent former President.

You need to work on you position paper as resorting to the old TDS and moron argument helps to embellish my Forum resume. This moron will keep you posted on future indictments that will be forthcoming.

Now, enjoy the lake and quit the Forum for the weekend.

Cheers

If you did you would agree with me that this was a terrible precedent.  But you are blinded by your mental illness.  And you never, ever respond to the subtstance of my points because you have no response.....like I said, either  not listening or a moron....and you choose moron.  Makes sense.

You should be watching the CT-Miami game rather than trying to play gotcha on the Forum. Did you see that shot for San Diego with 2 seconds remaining? I just watched a replay and they showed  that his foot was maybe 1/2in inside the sideline.

Catlin Clark was amazing. Actually look forward to watching her play Sun than the men on Monday. This was an awesome play...great to watch in slow motion. Great control...Can't figure how Iowa lost 5 games this year.

Wonder if Trump is watching the games tonight since two teams from Florida are playing? You need not worry as I am sure Trump will have access to a TV wherever the judge sends him.
