The opinions seem to vary if Putin is in control or if this is the beginning of the end for him.  There was evern speculation that a body double appeared on Russian TV - but others seem to think that he has gone the Joe Biden route with an eye lift and a lot of fillers in his face.

North Korea had some kind of parade/gathering estimated at 120,000 begging the "dear leader" to attack the US with a nuclear attack now that they have a big intercontinental ballistic missile.  Of course, in NK, people do what they are told, so who knows what the actual people think.  They are probably so busy looking for food when they aren't in the capital begging for our destruction.

Meanwhile, Biden is denying that he knew anything about his son's dealings, in other words, he is lying like usual.

While on active duty I was the Commander of the field office for a Defense Agency in Seoul and the cultural education was something to behold. Went to the DMZ several times, escorting "visiting firemen" from DC, and once with my family. We were able to go into the room where the negotiations take place, and while there actually step into North Korea. Is a rather sobering experience to stare into the face of aNorth Korean guard outside the room, with nothing but a pane of glass separating us.
The Korean culture is very much age and position-centric.  The largest church in the world is the Yoi-do Full Gospel Church in Seoul. The congregants, if asked, will not say they go to that church. The will say they go to "Doctor Cho's church"

The reason for all of this is to try to explain that those 120,000 people, or at least a lot of them, are there because Kim is their leader and they will follow him, period. Sad to say, but true.

The Korean culture is fascinating but not something to try to type out on an iPhone keyboard...

I know that the government of North Korea does not allow it's population to have much outside information, so it's entirely likely that they believe that we are getting ready to attack them.  I've only had limited exposure to Korean culture and Korean people in general.  I'm sure you have a lot of interesting insights.

Russia never fails to disappoint in their ability to make news.  Timely news at that given the release of the additional evidence that Biden and his crack addict son were selling access to the administration for big bucks.  I seriously doubt you could get a life insurance policy on Prigozhin unless you are willing to pay a premium equal to the coverage.  As for me, I remain skeptical about the whole thing.  If it is true that Putin gave amnesty to all involved it is indeed a very strange outcome.  I go back and forth as to whether this is evidence that Putin may be losing control but one thing I know for sure, if anyone claims they know that whoever will replace him is better they are a complete fool.  There are a lot of ardent nationalists in the Kremlin that advocate using tactical nukes in Ukraine.  Putin is bad but we have zero proof that his replacement will not be worse.....possibly much worse.  Sometimes it is better to have the devil you know.

As for the Norks, I have no idea what Kim Jong Mentally Un is thinking but he routinely rattles his saber but so far has not been crazy enough to act on them.  He surely realizes that if he actually uses a nuke the U.S. will turn that country into a field of radioactive obsidian.  So here's hoping that he doesn't actually do something so foolish.  But this is an abject lesson as to why we can't let Iran go nuclear.  They are run by a bunch of Muslim fanatics that may actually not care what happens.

Hmmmm....some left wing nut flagged this post for some reason.  My Dad fought in Korea and he rarely spoke about it other than one time when he had a few too many drinks and he told me that they had to literally kill their soldiers, otherwise they would never stop coming.  He thought they were on drugs but maybe there were that fanatical.  They are certainly an interesting culture.  I know a number of Koreans (from the south obviously) and they are wonderful people.....but really slow on a golf course.

Not sure about the flag either.  Whoever you are please tell us what you find so offensive.

I suspect it's some left wing nut that trolls the site and flags anything they don't like.  I get them on a fairly regular basis which I take as a badge of honor.

I've read articles lately that say that Kim Jung Un is lierally drinking, smoking and eating himself to death.  Maybe he has a death wish.  His sister would likely take over if he dies and she's even more radical than him.  I always worry that someone so insulated and suffering from a mental illness could actually talk themselves into thinking that we were getting ready to launch.  More than likely, he is hoping to stop the exercises we have with South Korea and Japan.

I agree with you about Iran.  And that is what worries me about Biden and Blinken - they would love to rush back into a nuclear treaty with Iran that nets nothing for us and no assurances.  We're really at a disadvantage negotiating with Persians - they have been negotiating for centuries and we always are in a rush to cut a deal, even if its a bad one.

Indeed his sister is a bigger loon than he is.  What a mess we have in so many parts of the world and we are being led by a dementia-addled fool that was wrong on pretty much every major foreign policy issue in his 50 plus year career.  Indeed they will give away the farm with Iran because Biden is an idiot and Blinken is a weak beta-male wimp.  Ugh!
