I'm in the same boat, I believe my pontoon has a 55 on it, was thinking it was stronger, but it's time for some work, cranks, runs, but I just don't think i get the speed I once did. I so want a new motor on it, who needs to go faster than 17 on a pontoon? oh yeah....ME!!

Tivo, mine is on a 24 ft. pontoon boat. This is my old 1987 Riviera Cruiser that I am trying to spiffy up for sale on ebay. I have generally been able to keep it running fine using my trusty Clymer repair book but I can't get it to idle properly or even crank without spraying into the carbs. Once started, I can keep it cranked by throttling up a little but it is spitting gas out the overflow hole in the bottom carb (all 3 carbs have been cleaned)......I am going to check for air leak in fuel line from tank thru filter and if that doesn't work, I will probably tow to the shop mentioned by ultra...I would like to find someone closer by that might come out for repair(Holiday Shores, Max/G area). You are doing pretty good to get 17 mph ...not so sure mine will gitty up that much...

Not sure, but I think the guy on the other side of the blue creek brige can work on it. He fixed a prop for me and told me he works on the Evenrudes that are made by Suzuki

Thanks, MOK-----are you referring to one of the marinas on South side of the bridge?
