First, let me describe the boat. It is green, wide (has Washington, Waddinton, or something similar on side) and has a very big Yamaha outboard on it. The license is AL7767 or something very close to that. The boat is a wide one and resembles the new ones driven by the Game Warden. The driver and passenger are in late teens or early 20's and have been cruising into sloughs in the Max/Gunter, Sandy Creek area. I interrupted them on Saturday afternoon trying to steal my neighbor's canoe. I was out this afternoon (Sun.) on my jetski and saw them casing out other areas in same part of the lake. They are idiots and fools...drove through a little pass with only about 1foot of water...I could not believe they did not rip off the foot of motor as they were going very fast. God help them if they make another attempt at my neighbor's canoe...If you are in this area, you should take note of these fools...
Thanks for the info. With more people looking out for them, maybe they will be caught quicker. It has always been my thinking that anybody who will steal like that has just as little respect for life as for property. Please be careful over there.
Another trick they are using is that they will pull up to a house and start blowing off the walks as if they working. My brother-in-law saw them in Cooper Branch ( Bama Park ) doing this to two of his neighbors. Anything suspicious should be reported to the sherriff. Thanks for your report.
Just bought a house two weeks ago. Wednesday morning at six I was sitting on the porch having a cup of coffee and a man walked around the house. When I asked what he was doing he claimed he was looking for a contractor and looking for work. He was driving a dark blue small pick-up truck but I sure didn't hear him pull in the drive. There isn't any construction in my area and the new "Ridge" is only a mile up the road. Wouldn't you look for work in an area where you knew there was construction going on? Maybe I should talk with the sheriff. Thanks for the heads up on the others.
