I have about 8 feet of water at the boat end of my dock at full pool. At what water level am I going to be in trouble regarding my boat? This is not a trick question. I am fairly new to the lake and am genuinely interested.

Hey Lamont.....
If you trim up when pulling in and backing out......you can go almost to 2 or 3 feet.....although 2 feet would be pushing it.
Plus.....it depends on how deep your boat sits in the water. You'll have to make the call on that.
I've got a pontoon boat.....and can go to about 15 inches to 2 feet. But I still need to trim up to keep the foot from scraping.

Our deep is about 8' also. We always tie the boat a little loose so if the water level goes down it will not stress our pier and boat (a lesson learned the hard way) then we try to check on it once a week or every other week. We usually take it out when the water level is 194-195 (Toward the end of September)

Well if you have 8 ft. at full pool which is 490 then your bottom is at 482 so if you had a safety margin of 3 ft to allow for your draft and enough to motor out I would pull your boat at 485.

Roswellric has a good post...but it really does depend on how much your boat draws..and what you want to do..
I keep my pontoon in the water eyar around...just keep pushing it out onto the floater...but...for mine it draws about 2 feet so have to start it on the floater when the water is about 2.5 feet at the dock..
Not a trick answer either..

No, definitely not me. It took me all of about 6 months to lose my Texas heritage. Like it much better here. Yeah, Texas is big but, what good is alot of space if it has nothing on it but dust and baked earth. In addition, have you ever been to Galveston? Undoubtably the ugliest,dirtiest beach I have ever seen. Unfortunately, my parents' Texas heritage stuck and they still fly the flag up in the deliverance infested mountains of North Georgia.Told em it could get them killed.

If you have 8 feet of water at the end of your dock, then the bottom of the lake is 482 at
your dock. If you need two feet of water, then at a pool of 484 you can still get out. Remember that the water may go down real fast if they need the water for power. My pontoon boat needs 22 inches to get out but it will bottom out then if there is a wave. A big vee-hull may need four feet.

Depends on what is under the vessel, rocks as in my case ,got it out early Sept.
