Can anyone recommend a golf course near Dadeville end of Lake for next time my boat breaks down?

The only course I know about on that side is at Stillwaters. The public can play, but I don't know all the details of arranging tee times. I have only played there once....played the back nine.....very scenic and fun. As I understand, the course has been recently renovated. It was in great shape in early July. I was told by the pro shop that you could not access the course by water....but if you are looking for something to do when your boat is on the fritz, I guess water access isn't important.

The Highlands Course at Stillwaters Golf Club should fill your needs. The phone number is 256-825-1353. The Director of Golf is B.J. Szafran. Tee times are available for Tues. - Sun.

Anybody played the Robert Trent Jones thing in Opelika?

A friend tells me that RT course in Opelika is extremely nice and not all that expensive.

Actually there are 3 courses there now; the Lakes, the Links and a fairly new par 3 course, I think.
I have played the Lakes and Links and was very impressed. At the time, the rates were very reasonable but, that was probably 5 years ago.
I now play at The University Club. Quite a challenge, 7,326 from the tips, 75.3 course rating and 138 slope.

Hard to get at RTJ?

I play RTJ twice a week. It is very nice. It costs about $59 to play the two full courses. The par 3 costs less. Annual members can play all the RTJ courses for just the cart fee.

Sounds like a winner to me. Anyone else?
