What a game!

Remember that LSU had to go to over time to beat Oregon State. Get the big head and the vols will feast in 2 weeks.

Hmmmm. Saying it was a great game equates to having a "big head"? Whatever. Stick to your beloved Tide sig, and let us revel in what was ,indeed, a great game.

I didnt say that the big head was already in existence. I was merely warning of what UT would do if it developed. YOu think I want to see Tennessee devour AU? I HATE the Vols, but from what I have seen so far, they are a far better team than LSU. LSU should be 1-2 right now. I am simply stating that beating this years LSU in no way equates to beating a national championship contender. YOu will see this as the season unfolds. Revel in the victory all you want--let it go to your head and you will forever continue your search for a national title. Auburn is known for winning one big game in the middle of a season, then falling short of their potential. How do you think Tubby has kept his job so long? Keep gloating, revelling, and wishing. . .ROLL TIDE ROLL!

Good grief sig, a guy says" what a game" and you launch into this diatribe about the "big head",Tubby is lucky to have his job, etc. And who intimated that beating LSU equated to beating a "national championship contender" and who even mentioned the Vols for that matter. Man, you can sure read alot into a 4 word post. We certainly appreciate your concern for Auburn but, perhaps you should be more concerned with your own game against the Vols or maybe even the Hogs this weekend. And just for the record, do you have a prognostication for how long Coach Shelia will keep his job?

My bad , it was only a 3 word post you ran with, not 4.

Good point lamont. I'm just a football fan and enjoy a great game, that was all I was saying.

I do follow Auburn (my wife is an '80 grad), but I enjoy watching many teams (including the Vol's....what a game they had too). I have to say that I hope Auburn wins in two weeks, but if they don't, oh well......It's just a game. We are talking college kids here, not soldiers in Iraq.

BTW.....
If I catch an Alabama game that keeps me captivated (and they win), I'll post:

Roll Tide

What a game!

If Sig wishes, I'll wager that and a 6 pack for November 20th......

Could not agree more. Nothing like being at a good college football game. I have totally lost interest in the pro game. Was a great game whether your an AU/LSU fan or not. These young uns tend to take things a little more serious.

I agree. It is just a game. However, I know how AU fans are. An uncle of mine that lives in TX was in town for a wedding this past weekend and watched the game. As soon as it was over it told me he would hate to be in my shoes because anytime a team that is traditionally the second rated team in a state wins a big game they flaunt it until something brings them back down to earth. He said that he deals with it from A&M all the time (he pulls for the horns). I laughed at him and assured him that A&M would never be able to flaunt a win like AU. Sure enough, shortly after the AU game, my cousin, my fiance, and I left to go eat at Wings in Montgomery and watch the Tide game. In an establishment that is full of Alabama fans eager to catch the PPV telecast, no fewer than 4 Auburn fans walked through the crowd shouting "War Eagle"--not in jubilation, but in an effort to taunt. I guess they had forgotten that they played LSU not Alabama. It is that attitude that embarrasses my fiance who is an AU fan. It frustrates her that AUs biggest highs are from big games---not big accomplishments. LSU was a pretty big game, but if the AU attitude shows up like it always does, championships will not be accomplished. I'll bet a 6 pack on THAT!

Now I have seen everything. An Alabama fan talking about "attitudes". And I am sure you have never heard a big "Roll Tide" after a Bama win directed at Auburn fans. That's football, whether it is in Texas, Alabama or where ever. Ever heard a Dawg fan bark in front of Georgia fans? Disgusting, but fans from all schools are guilty: yes, even Alabama.

Yes, I have heard the UGA fans barking at me---AT AN ALABAMA vs UGA GAME!!! I have shouted Roll Tide toward AU fans----AT THE IRON BOWL!!! I, like everyone else there, was there to watch the Alabama vs. Western Carolina game. Shouting War Eagle into the middle of the crowd was tacky regardless of who they just beat.

So, you're saying Bama fans never say Roll Tide unless it is at a game they are currently playing? O.K. sig, I give up. I now readily admit, Alabama is certainly the only school in the nation that does'nt have abnoxious fans. Their purity, refinement , and self control is unmatched. Hail to the Bear and all things Crimson.

Go forth in peace, my son. A whole new world, having nothing to do with the AU/ UA rivalry, awaits you.

If I wasn't familiar with the world outside of the rivalry would this post be on the LAKE MARTIN forum? I love life outside of the rivalry, but I am very thankful to live in the home of the most spirited rivalry in college football. Its all in good fun. You continue to War Eagle and I will continue to Roll Tide. We can disagree on fan etiquette, game predictions, etc. as long as we all shrug it off and get along where it counts---the Lake (and Chuck's karaoke of course).
