OKOKOKOKOK - they do make great hamburgers! Just stay away from the "specials".

Why? When I ate there , I felt like they specialized in Deep fried EVERYTHINGS. I'm sure they have 50 gallon barrels of Hydrogenated veggie oil in the kitchen.

plus cheese. It is definately high-fat heaven. Couldn't stand a steady diet of the stuff without a bypass. But hey! If you are hungry for a burger, it's the place to go...

We LOVE Oskar's!! The kids ask to go every time we get to the lake. Lots of good food and nice people.

It's good tasting food, but why can't restaurants use canola oil to prepare food instead of lard? I know what the answer is... it's called profit margin9 Lard= dirt cheap, canola oil = still relatively cheap, but shorter shelf life and less cheap.

Oscar`s , overated, expensive, crowded. Much rather go to Ducks Crossing for a Buffet Pizza or get a meat and 2 veggies at the Piggly Wiggly Deli, take back to the cabin away from all the comotion and rug rats.

You guys can trash the Mona Lisa. Oskar's is all a restaurant should be and of you don't want fried, then don't order fried. If you can trash Oskar's, you can trash anything....geez. I never. Yeah, it's crowded....because it's the best place this lake has ever seen. Not everyone wants to snot their noses to the ceiling when they go out for a meal....or hold their pinky out for all to gander.

Did you know they make all their dressings in house? Find one you don't like and you'll really know you are a prude.

I'm with you Mud. I thoroughly enjoy the place, the food, and especially, the people. We hardly ever fry anything at home so, it is nice to get a fix occasionally at Oskars. Most importantly, portions are huge(country fried steak) and I never leave there hungry. Let the complainers stay home, Oskar's is doing fine without them.

not everyone is so tight with a buck that they would prefer to drag home pre-cooked food from The Pig............ or load the gut with cheap pizza!

Our family happens to like the grilled chicken - this is a healthy alternative to the fried food. Also, the BBQ is good as well!

Oskars has a very good menu at very reasonable prices. I like their hamburgers/wcheese and their grilled shrimp. Now try eating at the cove with the expensive prices and walk out and smell their sewage as you return to your vehicle. The foods pretty good but no better than Oskars in my opinion and at Oskars you are spared the aromic retreat.

OK. Now let's do this... I would like to know -out of all the posters that liked Oscar's - how overweight they are. I'll start off.... I'm 20 lbs over my target weight. ( the hamburger contributed to 5 lbs).

I'm 5'8" and I'm 160 lbs. Not at all overweight. That's because I don't stuff my face with junk food( including chicken fingers , fries, and slaw from Oscars) all day long. And I'm 39 years old.
