Does everyone agree that the last week of march is a safe summerization date? ( from a freezing standpoint)

When I was 7 (1987) We had a pretty significant amount of snow during the second week of April. Part of living in Alabama is NOTHING about the weather is a sure thing. If i was going to bet, i would say that we wont be seeing another hard freeze, but that sure isn't to say that it aint happening.

If an unlikely cold snap decides to come, it only takes about 10 minutes to drain your block and add a little biodegradable antifreeze to the pump hoses.......... We are hoping to do a little wakeboarding later this week!

Wow jlazc, hope you have wetsuits. If not, you are certainly a better man than I. I always sommarize the first week in April, for what its worth.

Suits AND beer (for me, anyway)

............ the boys don't even use the suits unless its windy or below 65 degrees. Just tested the water this afternoon, and it is still a bit nip...........

It is for me....I may do it a week prior. Shoot...for the third year in a row I have winterized two boats with no freeze bad enough to hurt. It's like buying that $31 fishing license every year and never getting checked.
As for the wakeboarders...man, can't you wait to destroy the shoreline until the water is at least full pool? Oh yeah, forgot, your wake only matters to the fun you are having.

argument is back. See last years posts for and against "lake fun" to save time......I think almost everything has been covered; Karaoke, big boats, fast boats, fishing jugs, loud boats, weekender's, full-timers, jet-skiers, wakeboarders, and more.

I think the logical conclusion was :
1. there are those that cause damage by being disrespectful or stupid(because they think the lake belongs to them)
2.there are those that think that no fun of any sort should be permitted on or near the lake (because the lake belongs to them)
3. There are those that think only their "brand of fun" should be permitted (because the lake is there to support their interests, and all others are trivial)
4. There are those that have fun, enjoy the environment, use common sense, and try to respect others and property.

Don't confuse being annoyed with destruction, Mud. Its a big lake, and if everyone is respectful AND tolerant, fun will be had by all.

reckon how many people will be PO'd when i show up to the lake this summer with my jet ski that is shaped like a fishing jug--equipped with a big, fast, loud motor and a karaoke machine. . . . towing a wakeboarder. . . .who lives in a houseboat with a loud generator?
