Traveling from the Blue Creek Marina bridge toward Stillwaters, you pass an island and about 200 yards or so down on the left out on a point, a very, very old cabin has been removed and looks like a three or more story structure is under construction.

Been by the old cabin hundreds of times. Was rarely, rarely used. Only saw groups there and only on summer holidays (mainly July 4th). Never saw a sale sign and wondered is some type of lodge or private dwelling is under way? The structure looks very narrow.

Oh my...yes that place ponly seemd to be used on the holidays..

This must be progress tho...We will miss that place..one of the few remaining REAL cabins..

Anohter reason why I moved...too much progress..

That WAS the old Ponder place....tied up in a family squabble for years (or so I'm told) and must've finally ended up in the hands of the greediest or "most progressive" of the brood. Broke my heart to see it gone and replaced by an OSB built shotgun looking piece of crud. That place always meant something dear to me because I was able to avoid the type of squabble mentioned and restored our old original place....it was a classic lake structure indeed.
But who cares about the old stuff right? Let's build something new and modern that really means something! B. S.
