I flew over the lake yesterday, and the water was muddier than I have ever seen it. One creek on the north east side was as brown as bare dirt! The main channel looked murky too........ There must be some major construction runoff up there to be causing such a mess. The Kowaliga area didn't look too bad, however I can still only see down about 3-4 feet from my dock.

OH PA-LEEEEEEEZZZZZZZEEEEE don't tell me something is going on with the lake. I MADE my husband buy a place on Lake Martin because I LOVE the clear water. I wouldn't go to Lake Jordan because it was brown, murky and just plain scary to me. IS there contruction up the lake causing this, or does it just get so muddy after heavy rains? I'm keeping my fingers crossed that someone says the yuck will settle and it will be as beautiful as last year,.... soon I hope.

I'm sure it will clear up. The lake filled very fast and the water flow is also way up. Combine that with some land clearing &/or construction (it was hard to tell the exact cause from 24,000 feet), and I guess you get mud. However, I 've been flying over occasionally for 25+ years and I don't remember seeing it that dirty looking from above.

Yellow Bird? Are you the one who has the yellow H-copter near Real Island? I remember seeing that H-copter fly over last year.

You dont rememebr when you could see down 8 to 10 feet...and it was mostly calm Tue-Thursday..

But the lake is changing...so dont be surprised...as more and more folks come there the water will get to be worse and worse quality

My guess is that the 280 construction is a major factor in the north east area muddiness. I think all the creeks on that side of the lake run right past the hwy, and as hard rains come it just brings all the dirt with it. Sandy creek is the worst right now.

Here, Here! Johnny come lately's are worried about trying to fix a 'problem' they have identified. It has been doing this EVERY year for the 46 years I have been here. Spring rains a filling the lake causes a few week of muddy water EVERY year.

Chill out and let Mother Nature do her work.

If you are going to try and insult people while trying to elevate yourself (or just trying to make yourself appear smart) please use the spell checker. It is a "y", not an "i".
