A portion of a my wooden sea wall was destroyed in the storm last Tuesday. We suspect it was impacted by a large log.I plan on replacing it with a concrete wall, when the lake goes down this winter. Can anyone recommend a good contractor? The total footage is approximately 60.

Thanks,

I don't have a contractor in mind for se wall work, but you probably want to apply for your permit with APCO before the end of June since they will start charging $250 for permits in July. I think you have up to a year to complete the work from the time a permit is issued.

On another (somewhat related) topic, does anyone know what a reasonable charge per linear foot of "installed' rip rap should be?

Henderson & Coker is the gold standard for concrete seawalls.

I "installed" 73 tons of rip rap myself at our place several years ago along with family and every friend who had ever spent more than an hour there. By hand/wheelbarrow over a couple weekends due to grade and tight trees making a Bobcat unworkable.

Based on that, not enough money in all of Dadeville.

As an aside, I'd check with Vulcan Materials or other quarries on pricing of the rock. We were able to buy ours direct, but did have sort of an inside track. I imagine they'll sell it direct to anyone who pays their rate and mileage though.

(hopefully someone else can give you a more helpful answer)

It's by the ton. Mine cost $25/ft and ended up averaging about 12 ft high.

And for comparison purposes, does anyone have similar per foot prices for concrete, wood, and keystone blocks? My place needs a new wall (185' long ) and will only average about 3 - 4 feet tall.

I would guess and I've been out of it for a long time - that Keystone or equivalent would run you about $10-12 per sq ft. I would think concrete would not be much different...not sure.

Was that the installed price?
