I am coming to the lake this weekend. It better be "full pool" of good, crystal clear water. I don't want any wakeboarders or high powered boats in my slough. Hopefully, I have made myself perfectly clear. That is all.

So am I cleared to cruise through your slough on a air raft making my best powerboat noises with my mouth and kicking as hard as i can to produce a wake? If so, i am looking for a volounteer to ski behind me.

The mud has cleared quite a bit already. I could see down about 3 feet last sunday up in Madwind creek.

Well,... if this is what you want, you better be glad you weren't there today! Some butthead with a highpowered LOUD boat came "showboating" down the Little Kowaliga area. There goes the "Peace and Quite" in the neigborhood! You know,... there really should be a noise ordinance for the boat MOTORS. I feel sorry for the folks who actually live there year round.

...gonna do.

Now this might tick off the non-pwc crowd, but maybe I'll win 'em over with my idea:

I'm gonna go out cruisin' on my pwc...nice and easy.
When a big seaworthy craft comes roaring by, I'm going to do all I can to get in his way, annoy him like a gnat.

Two problems:
1) I may get squashed.

and B) It's not a very mature idea.

What say you?

Immaturity happens to be one of my strong suits. I say go for it as long as you have made me a beneficiary of your will.

Actually, I envy those that live there year round. On the few occasions I have been there on a weekday, it has been quite peaceful. The weekends, on the other hand, are when I normally spend my time there. Although I thoroughly enjoy most of the lake activity, I could stand a little less engine noise.

Should of been under joyrider's post.

I am the owner of a LOUD, go fast powerboat. There IS a new noise ordinance in effect. This ordinance sets guidelines for not more than 86 decibles so many feet from the boat. I know of several powerboat owners that are making attemps to pass the noise levels. Most of us bought our boats with factory engines, and nothing was done to make them louder. To make big power and be quite about it is difficult at best and very expensive. There are several manufactures offering products that should allow us to be both quite and fast. Bare with us that are trying to comply. There are some of us that respect your ears, and your privacy. I have ordered a new set of mufflers, and should have them on in a couple of weeks. I will let you all know how they do!

Hope everyone will be this considerate. "I" appreciate it and I know my elderly year round neighbors will too! :)
